Cost to buy Rear Fogs Lights and switch

I just bought Mini S with Areo and did not notice my order was missing
Rear Fog lights and when we picked car up ....Oppppps.
Any one know cost and is wiring harness have the wires there
to install lights and switches without modifing from stock..
I was really disappointed when I saw this but was to late..
If to much I might just install lights to clean up the look.
Not really sure if I would use them all that much .

Others than that I am really one lucky guy and what a car..
PW / PW Areo painted wheel arches with Redwood Interior,
6 spd,and lots of other goodies.

Why would you want rear fogs?

Have you ever followed a car with them on? It's like following a driver that rides their brakes, very distracting.

Except in the fog of course, where they are fairly useful.

You might want to take a peek at this first>>>

http://http://www.outmotoring.com/mi..._lamp_kit.html

I have heard to install the rear fogs is a PIA to do and costly...not as simple exercise as it appears. Maybe just get the item shown in the link and call it a day.

And depending on where you live, they may be illegal.

My Dealer Idea about them

My dealers idea was to flash fogs lights on tail gaters
to get their attention..

Last night if I had them I would have done it comming
home at midnight to a police officer ..
I have temp tag on car but he stayed to close for to long.
If I would have hit my brakes he would have been inside
the Mini S..
This was my first night coming home from work with this car.
Been doing this same trip for 37 years and never had anyone
this colse to my rear bumper..

Probably would have gotten pulled over if you sat their flashing your rear fog in the cop's face.

Some revenue assessors perform this tactic to get you to speed up a little. It isn't a common practice, but it does happen.

As noone here has answered you question yet I guess i will.

First you do not say what your car is R50 R52 R53 R56 etc.

If it is a second generation R56 or R55 there is a thread that covers all the info you need to know

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d.php?t=125800

if it is a first generation if you look into the first gen section the n you will find one there as well.

Actually that is the whole idea and in my opinion
you should pursue this, and if the stock option
is too expensive (meaning the switch, labor and programming)
you should get the parts to fill the hole, and run the
wires to your own self installed switch.

I have the super white halogen bulb in mine.
I use it as the
you are too close no warning shots will be fired
light.

it works well for normal tailgaiters.

i am still formulating a solution for hyper tailgaiters.
and daytime no looking cellphone talkers.

I would like to have them installed too, but I have heard they are a real PIA, so I wont be doing that... But I would still like to have the actual lights in the place where they should be, even if only for looks and not actually functional.

... And this will leave the extra toggle switch to use for my double secret oil/spikes dropped in the road to keep people from following too close to me MINI's lil Boot deterrent.

That's why you tap the brakes.

That creates more road rage according to the posts I've read.

In my opinion only, the foglight is really the happy medium.
It really does make a difference (ive run all kinds of
experiments for a year) without being overtly hostile.

Speaking of which, I have a friend, a fomer killer Marine,
he doesn't do it often mind you, but for the hyper
tailgaiter he burns their retinas out with an
18 million candle power spotlight.

THAT can not be ignored.

Bottom line in my opinion again, if you don't want your
retinas burned out you don't want your windshield shot out,
you don't want to become a statistic in general
stop driving like the spoiled rotten a$$ that you are.

Sorry for the interruption. Froglips... is that a LaserBlue with Black? I've never seen the combo in person, and ordered the combo hoping it would be great. All the photos of Laser Blue I have seen have been with a white top. If you do have laserblue/black, would you mind posting a few pics.

Thanks!

Now back to your foglight question.

I typically don't like the redwood - but it looks GREAT with that all PW & Aero setup!

Well done.
