Aftermarket exhaust tips on stock pipe?

Has anyone just added different exhaust tips onto the stock tailpipes? I don't plan on replacing my exhaust system, but I want to put some angle cut tips on. Anyone done this without having to cut the pipe? Any pics? Thanks for any and all replies.

i think the tips are easily removable. you can easily replace them with JCW tips for example...

The tips are a little tough to remove, depending on how long they have been on. There is a small hex head screw on the underside of the tip. Loosen those, drive the MINI for a little bit, spray the TAIL PIPE with water, not the tips, then tap on the back of the tip with a rubber hammer.
Should pop off with a little help.

Anyone know of any places to get a black exhaust tip? It's the last bit of chrome on my car. Thanks.

Think I can spray paint the tip black with high heat paint?

I think the high heat paint may work. On a couple of other cars, I used to paint my shiny exhaust black to give it a more sporty look. But the surface may not be as durable as chrome or stainless. Paint prep is most important else the paint will peel.

Okay, I found some exhaust tips that fit on the stock tailpipes without cutting or welding. They just slid right up over the tailpipe and clamped down. tell me what you think. Sorry about the dirty car!

Where did you get those tips at and what size are they?

I bought the tips from my local Autozone. They had to order them from Superior Automotive. The part number is 28-6301. They are 3 1/2" x 6"
I found the tips on Amazon also
http://www.amazon.com/Superior-28-63...2875721&sr=1-1

They just slid up on the pipe, and I used the top 2 bolt on clamps to hold them. With a little black paint on clamps, you can't tell how they are attached unless you get down at ground level and look closely. Plus I was able to slide them up far enough to not worry about burning my legs by mistake!
