JCW kit for automatics NOW AVAILABLE!!!

I can't beleive it. I was told last week by someone in the know that Mini has officially kicked the JCW Stage I kit to the curb for the automatics.

Today, I went to look at trading in my JCW just for kicks to see what they would give me towards a new '09 JCW with a Stage II from the factory.

Of course, the numbers sucked so I left.

On the way back, I got a phone call from the dealership with some surprising news.....

Mini RELEASED the JCW Stage I kits for the automatics!!!!

Go figure....

Anyone want to order one, part # is 11 12 0 440 236

Mark

That's great news , but when you look up that part # it's for the manual transmission one.

It's the same part number because it's the same "part". BUT, since it's VIN specific, each one will be adjusted to the proper equipment.

As far as prices, I've been quoted from 1465 to 2100 bucks for just the parts.

Labor has been from 2 to 2.5 hours.

I'm in the market for one as well. The "but" is how it will affect shift points and the harshness of those shifts. The only reason I almost never use the sport button is that it runs the transmission one gear higher all of the time.

Assuming 100/hr, it shouldn't cost more than 200 bucks to install.... I'm actually counting on less.

But did you know if you slide the shifter to the left, it will put it in sport mode (steering and trans) but you can easily pull it back one gear and still run 6th gear (or whichever one you choose)

I know I can run the auto in manual and shift where I want, but I would like to be able to run in auto mode and maintain the gas saving shift points.

Already did.... I ordered it this afternoon. Unfortunately, it's on backorder. They said it may actually still be in Germany on it's way over.

As soon as it comes, I'm getting it installed.

All I need is a phone call and 2 1/2 hours....

I once made it from exit 14 in GA. (14 miles from the Florida border) to my driveway in Indian Trail, NC in 4 hours and 10 minutes.

Surely I can make it to Savanahh is less than that....lol.

Mine was paid for a month ago. My parts guy said they were talking about at JCW, but no guarantee....I just rolled the dice.

Damn, you'd think that if they had your money at least a month before they even ever knew the kit was being released, they'd at least give you a healthy discount.

Regardless, at least you got it.

Actually, I hear you. The extra few bucks is worth knowing it's there and not having to hear "it's on backorder" LOL.

If you get it on, let us know what you think.

I'm still not sure if I'm going to install the whole thing or just the ECM. I'm not really interested in the exhaust or CAI. I've got a DDM and I like the stock quietness of it.

I'll probably install it just because I'll have it... not because I insist on having a JCW exhaust.

As long as it doesn't sound buzzy, I don't mind the exhaust. I'm glad you're able to get it so fast. Let us know how it works out.

JCW tuning kit for Auto Trans??

If you already have a different intake (ALTA) can I still get this kit dealer installed...minus the JCW Intake? About time they released this. I'm jealous wish I could afford this right now!!

Mark that is great news to hear it is FINALLY available for the automatics!!
So they finally overcame passing the emission hurdle.

I would imagine others can now configure one directly from MINIUSA.com when building their own new '09 MCS with an automatic too.

I guess it is the 189 hp JCW stage 1 kit which is a nice bit of boost over stock along with a full factory warranty.

Now I have to save up and get one and have it installed.
