Today while at my dealership Vista MINI I checked with the parts dept. and the JCW stage 1 kit is $2100 and needs to be prepaid to order it since it is VIN specific and I was also quoted a labor charge of 2.5 hours X $135.00 per hour = $337.50.

So all totaled $2437.50 + tax

You may want to check with Morristown Mini, I saw they are selling the kit for like 1700 bucks.

Fortunately for me, I've got someone being nice to me and I'll have almost 300 less in it than that.

Good, glad to hear it.... just thought I'd pass it on. I just happened to be searching their site and saw that price.

Let us know if they match the price.

Part number for the kit is the same for 6 speed vs automatic. VIN determines the coding for the computer.

The ONLY thing that varies in this kit the firmware CD. If memory serves correctly, the CD is coded to match VIN also. This means that code for VIN X will not work on VIN Y.

Hope that helps.

When did you order your kit

I was wondering when you ordered because I am hoping my kit is not far behind.

I'm assuming mine is at the dealership because they took it out of my account using my debit card. They don't usually do that unless they have the parts in their hand.

I called and left a message...was kind of hoping that they'd call me and tell me to come get it.

Wish they'd hurry up...lol.

I can't wait to hear what you guys have to say about the kit. I know for myself, the kit continues to get better and stronger every day. It now has limitless power that never gives up regardless of what gear I am in. As I have said before, I bet the kit works even better on the automatics.

I'm really considering getting the kit for my mini. The price kinda scares me a bit though. Is it really worth $2k? I'm really looking for some reviews once you guys get it installed.
