Hey! Does anyone know if the plastic lenses on the dealer-installed driving lamps can be purchased independently of the entire lamp assembly? I have one that is cracked (driving without the covers can do that, I guess.)

I really want to get a new lens before this one completely destroys itself.

I'll call my dealer today, but let this be a warning to everyone else. Use the covers on the freeway!

Or install one of those clear headlight protection kits. The kit I bought also included pieces for the driving lights.

Thanks for the warning/reminder... I tend not to use the covers... on the highway, yeah, that's when I should snap them on.

Good idea. I had been thinking about ordering a set for my headlights, I never even thought of it for the driving lamps!

Well, great. You can't order just a lens, you have to buy the entire lamp. How much is a lamp? $144.00. Since I just have a small crack, I'm going to buy the clear plastic stuff, put it on, and hope for the best. The crack isn't noticeable unless you are about 6 inches from the lamp, so I should be okay.

I just can't believe they don't bother to sell the pieces independently. If I ever really do have a problem, I guess I'll buy cheaper lamps somewhere else and use the dealer installed wiring.

Oh well.

I never use those plastic covers--- too afraid I'll turn on the lamps (not just an accessory, I use them a lot) and melt them! They are just useless junk I have rattling in the "trunk." Rethink?

I guess I now have to remove my driving light covers and "Lion Paws" when parking my MCS in public. I've already been relieved of 2 magnetic Lion Paws, fortunately they are replaceable for a couple of dollars. Thanks for the warning about the covers.

Lion paws? Nittany Lion paws? I need to get some of those. I'll add them to my list of things to buy when I get out to State College some weekend (very soon hopefully).

Jerseygirl,

If you don't mind my asking, which kit did you buy that had the driving lamp protection included? Autoclearguard (or whatever it is on the banner up above) doesn't seem to have a kit that includes those.

I ordered the kit along with my Xpel clear bra from Autoclearguard.com. I don't recall exactly but I think the headlight kit was an Xpel product too. The website didn't indicate that the kit included the pieces for the driving lights but they were in the package when I got it.

Thanks! I'm sooo happy with this car.

By the way, if you're thinking of installing the kit yourself it's actually quite easy. Ryan has been more than helpful dealing with my stupid questions. If you have any problems give him a call.
