Hey NAMers,

My lovely wife had to have an emergency C-section August 3 due to preeclampsia or pregnancy induced hypertension aka high blood pressure/toxemia. As a result we'd like to introduce 'Kayden Yung Higgs'!

The upshot of this lil buggar coming early is that my MCS will not be involved with upgrades or getting excersise on the autocross pad or track this summer. I'm AOK with this BTW! Keep up the reporting, sharing and discussions NAMers!

He's doing super for being only 2lbs 14 oz or 1320 grams. He dipped down to 1275 grams on day 2(big bore/stroke A-series displacement of Classic Minis)! His O2 saturations and blood sugars are better; he's even keeping his premie formula down. He's going to be one super Miniac/MINIAC!

Day 1/his birthday!

Day 2. My shirt says 'I have the best of both worlds Mini and MINI photos follow.

Down to 1275 grams. At least he's breathing room air not supercharged air like our MCSs!

Day 4/August 6th. My wife was able to see/touch him the 1st time since Day 1!

My son is now 14, but was also a premie.

Try this for a picture. Take your wedding ring and see if it will easily slip onto Kayden's wrist. He looks a little big for this to work, but try it. It makes an excellent pic to remember just how small they really are.

His first toy will be a scale MINI or Mini replica model to show scale and his gross size. I'll try the ring thing but I've got a ring size of 8.5 so hmmm probably won't fit.

Our Kaden is off IV fluids, has gained weight the past 2 days and is up to 1271 grams!

I suppose it's time to start working on Kaden's nursery/room now! Not to mention trying to figure out how to mount his car seat base to my rear seat delete.

1st sleeper! Isolette temps down from 34 C on Aug 3 to 30 C on Aug 8!
