what have i done..

I finally did it, bought myself super bundle from DP today what have i got myself into!! I haven't washed my own car in 5 years. Since i've bought my new mini 3 weeks ago i think it's time to get into it again. Hopefully i will get some assistance and tips on starting with my new car, so my transition into hard labor won't be that difficult.

Well let's hope I don't get O.C. disorder any time soon, but time will only tell.

looking forward to your tips and advice, and trust me there will be many questions asked .

I'll post my questions here as needed...this thread will surpass any other in this auto detailing 101 sub forum.

I find that weekend washes are a good way to detox from the work week.

Heck Yea! No better therapy than a pile of Prima goodies and a few hours of garage time.

I'm in the same boat as you, only washed my last vehicle once, right before I sold it. I got the Super Bundle and I am hooked. I've never waxed a car so I am slightly apprehensive about using Epic (swirl paranoia).

Clean is a Zen-like state. Achieving clean, if only for an instant, is good for the soul.

My heart is racing and I'm breaking out in a light sweat.

sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.

Most of my supplies are all put away, out of sight, in a cabinet. Seeing those all out like that...

my first attempt to polish and wax. I decided to use my other car as the guinea pig, i've posted some pictures of my car with some questions.. hope someone can help me use the right products for the job. I have seen octaneguy's dvd and ready to start.

1) I have few scratches that i would love to buff out, they don't feel deep, would swirl work? and which pads?

2) My sunroof trim and out side pillars has oxidation, can't tell whether it's plastic or chrome painted. what do i use?

3) my interior has a stain in the fabric on the A pillars and below my center arm rest. what do i use to remove?

4) My leather seats have small holes for the heated conveinance, they have been conditioned before but some of the holes have dirt stuck in them? how do i clean the holes and what product ?

5) My dash (vynil or leather vynil overlay)...has only been washed never applied any vynil cleaners or conditioners. it still loooks very good, but what do you recommend for the dash?

6) side door panels have 2 different kinds of leather, one feels very soft (can't tell if its leather with vynil overlay or pure leather) and the other same as my dash. do i use 2 different products for this?

thanks for any advise...
