My Mods

OK, now that I have had my car for a while, I have started to order some items for it:

  • new mats, love my beefy new mats, they are so heavy and well made
  • blackout beltline, getting ride of the chrome
  • color coded light trim rings and scuttles
  • JCW black trim piece around the grill to get rid of more chrome
  • LED lights, the lower driving lights that are always on are being replaced with LED's, as are the license plate lights. The lower lights that are always on will look a lot better, especially at night (more of a match to the HID's). Cant seem to find a replacement for the fog lights
  • stubby antenna, and fast braking light
so far so good, I think...

Good thing you're so far away...

Or I think we'd be mistaken for each other a lot...
I don't have the stubby or the LED's (where did you get the LED's & Mats?).
I also did the gas cap and rear door handles (Lyle's), painted the scuttle myself, and am trying to decide what to do with the side door handles.
Also re-did the emblems and am working on re-adhering (is that a word?) them...

  • quality floor mats (they were about $100 for the ones I ordered)
  • super bright leds (thats the websites name)
  • you can get the front door handles (even with the convenience pkg) from Lyles

Dead, I've asked Admin Boy about some way of letting users know a gallery is populated.
They said, No Go, due to database structure.

OK, this is what I feared since the same thing had happened on my mercedes. The mini can detect a "low current draw". Since LED's pull less wattage than their incandescent brethern, the car thinks a bulb is burnt out and I am getting a warning symbol. So there are two options, one is to add a load resistor (which you can get from the same company for a few bucks) which will eliminate the problem, but it would take up a lot of room and probably be a more pain than its worth. The other option is to go back to stock, which is what I think I will do for now...

Anyone have anything else to add?
