So my 2008 MCSm PW/PW is on it's way. I was going to get the black sport stripes on the bonnet and boot, along with the matching black roof stripes. My MA just told me that the only sport stripes he could order from the VDC for install, are the bonnet/boot sport stripes and NOT the roof stripes.

So for those of you that got the sport stripes, did you get the roof stripes too?

Will it look ok without the roof stripes?

BTW, I was quoted $190 TOTAL for the sport stripes which includes parts and labor. The VDC will be installing.

You might be better off to see if they'll cancel the SS install, and find a local place to do stripes for you. It will probably be cheaper, they'll definitely do the roof, and they'll do the detail work of working with the scoop and continuing the stripes down to the bumper.

 

That price is about right. that is what I was charged. You can get them for the roof, however they aren't to visible.

 

forgot to add. i got my stripes free from dealer. as far as i understand, MINI will not extend the stripes but i'm sure you can have them installed by whomever your dealership uses. it's usually a local shop anyway.

 

I also ordered the sport stripes on my '08 and when "tracking" my Mini on-line it stated "Sport Stripes" on the details of the vehicle. When it arrived at the dealership, no stripes in site. The dealership wound up installing them.

I already checked with Aesthetic Creations. They want $225 for the stripes + $250 labor, and they are at least 50-60 miles away. I'm getting these for $190 installed.

UPDATE: My dealer (Mini North Scottsdale) does not do any decal installs at the dealership, so that is not an option. I think for $190 I'll just get the bonnet/boot stripes installed at the VDC. If I don't like the look, I can always have the roof stripes installed later.

I'm in the camp that thinks that you can get the additional stripes later on. I was going to extend the stripes all the way to the bumpers but as soon as i saw the car, i quickly changed my mind. who knows, maybe you'll put a real individual graphic up there as you now have a canvas to do so!
