50k miles... warranty expires =(
i tried searching for this but i couldnt find anything on this specifically...
i have 49,800 miles on my mini and my warranty is about to expire now at 50,000 miles. its a 2006 MC, i bought it brand new. it obviously does get driven a lot since i have already 50,000 miles in 2.5 yrs
now my questions is....since my warranty is about to expire i want to take it in to the dealer to make sure everything is perfect b4 50k. is there anything specific i should ask/tell the dealer to look at wen i take the mini in for service. anything....
thanks

I believe that so long as there is warranty remaining, you can extend it if you want.
Otherwise, probably best bet is just get in good with the service tech and ask them to do a once over on everything, just to see if anything is out of the ordinary.

If it is not broke they will not fix it, but have them check:
Window motors
power steering pump
oil pan gasket
steering knuckle under the dash
power steering fan (wow I seem to be focused on the power steering
)
rust on the door sills
hatch hinges for operation or rust
motor mounts
CVs and boots
Just some ideas off the top of my head.

It may be a good idea to have a state inspection done, even if you still have a few months on your old one. This way, you know that you will not have any out of pocket expenses to be inspected for the next year.
I agree with the State inspection - I had ours done at the dealer and they found a couple od things and fixed them.

Depending on your dealer they may not do a "once over" for free. They only get paid if they find something broken, and if there ain't nothin broke, then they are out the labor hours.
My warranty is up at the end of next week. My dealer just advised that I keep getting the oil changed there and said that he would have an easy time covering anything that breaks just out of warranty since my miles are low (35K). My dealers service center is owned by the Penske group so it's much bigger than most and can absorb "courtesy cost".
