Banana Gloss now available at Detailers Paradise!

Yes, it is finally true... the much anticipated Banana Gloss wax is now available at Detailers Paradise (online, by phone, or at our retail store in Denver).

Some of our other Prima retailers, including Bimmian/Coopersport (in Canada) and ShowCarDetailing, will have it in the next couple of days. You can inquire with them as to whether or not they are accepting pre-orders at this time.

Here is a direct link to Banana Gloss for more information:

Thanks again for your patience and for your help in its development!

Placed order today!

...along with about $80 worth of other stuff. Was hoping to get it by Friday, but it's 3 days from CO to IL, and since it wasn't available 'til today, I guess I'll have to wait a week to give it a try (won't have time through the week to wash Waldo! )

I have to take the MINI in for service soon, so I'll have to stop in and get some.
It's so nice that the Detailer's Paradise store is on my way to the MINI dealership!!

Man...I just ordered a gallon of Hydro 2 weeks ago. I would have picked this up with it, oh well, maybe next shipment!

What are the criteria for choosing Banana Gloss or Epic?

Banana Gloss is more fun to say

Really though, Epic is for long term protection. I plan on using BG over it for the look, which on our BRGs is much deeper/richer than just Epic.

Mine should be arriving tomorrow, too. Along with a 3.5 inch backing plate and some 4 inch pads. Those will come in handy the next time I polish one of the MINIs. That'll be soon... the JB convertible is coming up due for it's six month major detailing. Can't wait to see how that one looks after Swirl, Amigo, Epic, and Banana Gloss.

Wow, Mark, you're right, that is fun to say.

Damn, I just placed a $200 order, including Epic...and it's SUNNY out! Wish I had Banana Gloss so I can still wax my car. Waiting for some shade, lol. I'll probably pick up some Banana Gloss in a few weeks to give it a try

I just (finally) used my BG sample yesterday. It certainly is easy to work with, and my MINI looks nice and shiny.

Couple questions:

1. Was it ever resolved as to whether or not to use Hydro after washing a BG'd finish?

(Side note: I had some body work done and was told not to wax the fresh paint for a few weeks. After those few weeks I washed and sprayed Hydro on when drying. After 2 such treatments the new paint--that had no other product on it at all--was beading just like the rest of my Epic'd+Hydro'd car!)

2. And, can I still use my Meguiar's NXT car wash, or should I get something more fancy?

3. Why do flies like BG so much? Every time I've walked past my car there has been at least one fly on it. Are there real bananas in there?!

Must be a fruit fly.

The word I got is you can use Hydro no problem.
The NXT should be fine (though I personally prefer Mystique)

I have and will continue to use Hydro with BG.

I did my roof today with BG, looks great. But being ever wanting to test things, I only did 1/2 the roof with Amigo first. I did remove anything that was still on there with alcohol, and clayed the whole surface first.

The reason I only did 1/2 the area with Amigo was to see how just BG would look beside an Amigo treated area. The roof had some light swirls on it, they are gone now were I used Amigo, and you really have to get the light right to see them where just BG was applied.

Not the best pics, but it does look great in person.

These are in total shade, the reflection is pretty impressive

These pics just look kind of cool.

Out in some sun

Just cause

I'm flying to Denver tomorrow. Does anyone know if Banana Gloss can be put in your carry on luggage? Even though I've got some arriving tomorrow in lotsie's shipment, I'm not sure I'll be able to pry it out of his hands so I'm going to make sure and do the pilgrimage to Mecca. Maybe even get to meet the famous Heather.

Lookin' good, Mark... if you break all the mirrors in your house, no worries, the MINI's roof will do just fine.

lotsie- thanks for the test and report! so were you
able to treat the arches with BG at all?

meaning, can you blacken them with the BG and skip the BW process?
i think people would love to not have to dress their arches cause it's
a time consuming process since you have to be VERY careful not to
get it on the paint.

i find myself Hydro does a great job re-nurishing plastic trims... ive
yet to try it on the MCS's arches.

I still had to BW because of the Amigo. But the BG does some nice things to the black trim.

Now where is that UPS guy

Had a club meeting last night, so no BGing. Today after work I plan on doing the hatch and rear bumper. Going to Swirl/Amigo/BG back there.

Hey, Mark... I'm with you on breaking the major detailing job down into several days. But instead of working each area completely, don't you think it would be easier this way:

Day 1: Swirl on the entire MINI
Day 2: Amigo on the entire MINI
Day 3: Epic on the entire MINI
Day 5: BG on the entire MINI (skip a day, more cure time)

That way, you don't have to keep switching products and pads on your buffer.

Just a thought. I'll be interested to hear your take on why you prefer your method.

My BG and other goodies arrived today !!

So... why does Banana Gloss not smell ANNNNNNNYthing like bananas ? In fact, it doesn't smell good at all. Heather, you should have put some of that peach extract in it like you did with the Hydro !!

But hey, if it works as advertised, I'll overlook this little indiscretion.

Yeah, after I picked up my BG from Lotsie, my daughter wanted to smell it ans she said it stinks I said no way! But sure enough, it smells 'chemically'. There must be some banana odor one can put in there

Oh and by the way, my daughter figured out that the name had banana in it because it's yellow, but where did the "gas" come from? (Sorry, I'm sure the answer is out there but I'm lazy to search ....)
