Audio idiot - please help me

I'm sure this is a stupid question, and one that has been answered before, but I searched and could not find anything.

I have a 2005 MCc with the HK stereo system. I want to hook my Ipod Touch into the stereo, but I can not find the Aux input. Could anyone tell me where to find it, and what kind of wires I need to install?

Thanks in advance.

Did you buy the aux? It's not std. Chances are it's in the glovebox or in the panel under the radio in the storage cubby

Thanks for the info. I bought the car used about a month ago, so how would I know if it has the Aux? I looked briefly in the glovebox last night but did not see anything.

If there is no Aux input am I just out of luck and need to come up with a plan B?

Checked it out tonight. Nothing in the glove box. Drop down panel was troublesome to open and it was raining so I did not do it.

What type of cable do I need ot get? Can I find it at a Best Buy / Circuit City?

Thanks

outmotoring.com should have it. it's a simple install - some say it can be done from that panel but I prefer to pull the radio out to do it and plug the adaptor in

for an 05 without NAV, if it is the regular aux, i would "try" to reach. mine worked fine without taking everything apart...

i'm jealous of 06, only the side pieces had to be removed.... they drop down, and there is the stereo, no extra crap....

except to get those downtubes out, you have to remove the whole center console unlike the earlier models

ok, true enough. but at least they don't need to be removed to remove the stereo.

Thanks for the info. I'll check out Outmotoring and go from there. This thread might be active again in a week as I figure out what I did wrong.
