More Kudos For Jan Tune And RMW Products

I just had installed the RMW Cam and had Jan from RMW do a tune for me. I have an '05 JCW with stock pulley and Milltek exhuast system. Prior to the cam and tune, I was able to get 194.5 WHP, but the car never seemed to run right after the DimSport tune by he who will remain unnamed.

After a replaced CAT at RMW and a few kinks worked out, the numbers are now 213.2 WHP and 190.3 ft/lbs torque.

Thanks, Jan, for ALL your help and insight as regards my MINI and your contributions to this industry.

17 whp 400 RPM's lower in the power band. Looks good!

Nice gains under the curve too. Another success story!

Congrats

Yes, you must have a "Monday" car, as 194 WHP with stock pulley and head is amazing. I got 180WHP with most of the common mods which is pretty standard.
Then to have Jan get you another 20HP with a cam and tune--fantastic.
Good on you!

The car pulls much better now with increased smoothness throughout. And yes it must be a "Monday" car, as you say, as Jan was even impressed with the numbers....even when he had to take OUT almost 4 degrees of timing due to pinging.

Due to some missing and pinging, I have switched gas companies and replaced my Nology wires for the stock...on Jan's recommendation.

When I have saved some [more] money (which I can do now that my daughter is out of college) I will be installing a 15% pulley and the RMW head. Then, that will be it! I do not race this car, I just like power and speed.

By "stock pulley" the OP means his stock JCW package pulley.

Yes, the 'stock' pulley is the (approx. 11%) JCW pulley.

Jan, do you typically use Shawn's dyno? I didn't think so but...I ask because coming from the S2k world that dyno is known to read quite high. He told me that his was one of the first Dynapacks to come across from Aussie land and some sort of transistor broke, when it got fixed the dyno would give numbers that were O' so pleasing but a little off.

I dyno'd 235whp @ 8250 and 163tq @ 6200

In reality I was only making ~217 whp as Shawn told me...so multiply the given number by .925 and you get about what your real numbers are. I don't mean to bring down the OP or Jan. Jan, if you recall I've emailed you a few times and talked to you...probably the only guy thats mentioned the S2k before and a 2.5L . But the truth is that Shawn Churches dyno reads high...it is a good dyno for tuning, but the numbers given are not comparable to industry standard.

Enologuy...you are making more like 197whp which is still AWESOME for your mods! And Jan...I still can't wait to get your cam and tune

edit* it also brings torque down to a more realistic 168 Before and 175 After...seems right for the mods and what Jan has been doing with the Mini's

we use dynapacks all over the country and the only thing consistent is we made the big power on every one of them. Our cars are also the fastest at the track. We made 253whp in Detroit with our kit and 242whp in Seattle at 7k with another and that car wasn't even put together right.

At Seattle Clint said his car pulled the same number on a dynojet. Everyone knows dyno's are for comparison of before and after. Our performance on the track shows our kits and numbers do what they say they do. I guess everyones dyno reads high

No doubt about that

As long as nobody thinks that this Mini would actually make 217 on the Seattle or the Detroit dyno...thats good. As I mentioned with the Shawn Church correction factor 197whp is still really good with only header/exhaust/cam and tune!!!

As for every dyno reading high...only for you Jan, only for you
