hey guys i got a MINI R53 with a Bastuck Exhaust and the Alta 15% pulley reduction. was planning on making more power... A LOT MORE! haha Also, I read up on Jan's new TVS 1320 supercharger kit he's working on making! That looks very promising. I was planning on getting the RMW 2.0L head... or maybe the 1.6L? which do you recommend? and are there any other parts i should buy before i buy the head? I also wouldn't be able to get it tuned by Jan since i live in the Chicago area and Jan isn't making anymore come backs to the Midwest.

Thanks for the help!

If you want a lot more power, your goal is limited by your wallet. Understand what you want to do with your car, that will guide you. Do you want to race Paul Webster in the 1/4, take on the MINIs at the Streets of Willow, autocross, etc?

The 2.0L is a new motor, not just a head.

IIRC, Jan tune your car remotely.

Jan is a nice, helpful guy, call him. And he gives away stickers on the freeway (seriously)!

Thanks for the help. I understand the 2.0L motor is the 2.0L RMW stroker kit if I'm not mistaken.

I am quite pleased with my RMW cam, head, & header on my JCW car with a 15%. Can't wait for the tune, installation of the 440s, and being able to post some numbers. Very pleased with the upgrade.

BTW, my OEM JCW pulley measured out at 11.45% redux. So yeah, a 'stock' pulley for a JCW is not exactly the same as a stock S pulley.

I eagerly await the installation of my bigger injectors and Jan tune as well. I was having a blast playing with a Mustang Mach 1 yesterday. That thing sounded nasty when he got on it. And a license tag that sez BTTLFED intrigued me. Had to let the Milltek sing its song and get a rise out of him. He was at a disadvantage, which leveled the playing field for me. Curvy road. He couldn't get away. What a blast.

LOL... when I saw you on the 22 freeway that day and pulled up along side, you looked pretty shocked. I think I pissed off a few people in rush hr traffic handing you the sticker. Oh well.... where you going to go in bumper to bumper?

will be good to see you again. It's strange as I speak to different people all the time. Some parts of the economy are at all time highs. Others, in the dumps. I guess these things happen when oil quadruples in 3yrs

I dyno'd 235whp @ 8250 and 163tq @ 6200

In reality I was only making ~217 whp as Shawn told me...so multiply the given number by .925 and you get about what your real numbers are. I don't mean to bring down the OP or Jan. Jan, if you recall I've emailed you a few times and talked to you...probably the only guy thats mentioned the S2k before and a 2.5L . But the truth is that Shawn Churches dyno reads high...it is a good dyno for tuning, but the numbers given are not comparable to industry standard.

Enologuy...you are making more like 197whp which is still AWESOME for your mods! And Jan...I still can't wait to get your cam and tune

we use dynapacks all over the country and the only thing consistent is we made the big power on every one of them. Our cars are also the fastest at the track. We made 253whp in Detroit with our kit and 242whp in Seattle at 7k with another and that car wasn't even put together right.

At Seattle Clint said his car pulled the same number on a dynojet. Everyone knows dyno's are for comparison of before and after. Our performance on the track shows our kits and numbers do what they say they do. I guess everyones dyno reads high

Surely both his dynapacks dont read high do they I presume he didn't buy them both togeather at the same time.

That would be really confusing for customers if they went on one and then went on the other one the next time. where's all my hp gone

I suppose this is the problem when everyone gets hang up on numbers, like Jan says its what it does at the track what matters and those scoreboards never lie, unless its April 1st

Well the easiest way to double check any dyno is to go to the strip!

I was, it must have been seeing you in the GP disguised as an Audi!

That was a great moment thanks!

At the moment there seems to be more stock R56 Mini's going to the strip than modified R53

We're back out testing new products in a couple of weeks

As you can see we like testing IAT

a bit off topic...

Im curious, is the mini engine built really well or could any comparable engine have these types of power gains with RMW attention and their parts and pieces.
This question could have probably been asked in any other thread...
