A great MINI summer day

On the ride home yesterday, I was smiled at by a nice looking young lady in a Prius, challenged by a slammed blatty Integra, waved at by two smiling little kids in an SUV, and given a flash-and-wave by a fellow Mini.

What other car can give you that?

It was a GREAT day...

(just wanted to share... )

Your anecdote is way cool. Always fun to get the wave back or thumb's-up. I've gotten waved at by kids on the street now and again. Always get home with a smile.

The other day had a guy in a BMW Z4 literally crane his neck watching us as we passed him. That was a good feeling to know he was envious.

I just liked that it was one more than a hat-trick, and my car was looked at by an economy car, a "performance sport compact", an SUV, and a fellow Mini! Not to mention that the H/K performed admirably, the supercharger whined at me, and the car was it's usual pleasure to drive...

That sounds like a fun day. How did the informal Integra showdown go?

Honestly, it's posts like this that really make me want a MINI. It's rare to find cars that the vast majority honestly has a lot of FUN with, and all the time!

Oh man, I smile EVERY time I drive this car...

...and the Integra, well.... ... actually we were in traffic and it would've been an insane place to street race - since it wasn't a track - and, well, he was at a disadvantage... he hadn't been smiled at by the cute young lady, she had shunned him...

Great to hear all this. I was second guessing my decision to get a R53 Mini S over a 135i, 335i, e92 M3, or older 911. But I really think it's going to be a blast.

I am looking for a responsive fun to drive car, and an owners group that knows how to have fun without taking themselves or their cars too seriously. Sounds like this could be a perfect match.

Today I had the opportunity to drive an R53 MCS ('05) around. Fun times. No body roll. It belongs to a vintage Porsche enthusiast, he let me drive it, since he knows I have been obsessed with them.

The article in this thread pretty well sums it up.
