I haven't ordered yet, but my first upgrade will be the Cold Air Intake.
Several have had good threads on it here.
Around $200 and a do it yourself.

Had the DDM cold air intake but the wife thought it made the turbo too loud. I'm going to do the rear sway bar at some point.

 

I'm still looking at brands.
Do a general internet search.
The CAI is generic, so finding some overpriced item that looks cool isn't happening for me.
Some are well over $300, and plenty are around $200.
It's a hose and filter in a plastic box!

 

Wow, its only been 3 weeks since I placed my order and I have a list of things I am going to be doing.

1)Alta Front Strut tower reinforcement
2) HR Lowering Springs
3)Alta 19mm Rear Sway bar
4)Boost gauge
5)Purchasing a compact spare
6)satellite radio, I couldnt justify 500 bucks from bmw... picked up one for 40...

As far as engine work I am going to drive the car alot before I start upgrading the engine, pretty much just improving air flow, Intake, upgraded alta intercooler, improved plumbing... that a ways out though, plus I need to find out what Mini's policy is with warranty, I wouldnt want to void that right off the bat...

 

Oh yea I did the XM instal also not a fan of Sirius.
