Scottish Games Saturday 6/28

The annual Scottish games at the Lorain county fairgrounds is saturday 6/28 starting at 8 am and going all day. This is a very LARGE British car show and the admission is FREE if you bring your car (duh). This is nice and CLOSE (well, to me at least) and the price is right. A great opportunity to hoist the BRM flag.I'm going fo sho and so is the MM in her car. BB is a definate maybe. I know Traci Wakeman and her hubby are bringing both of theirs and she said Lorain county has their own Mini "community" that will be there. Who else???

As much as I'd like to go, I will most likely be at Mid-Ohio that weekend. I do know that some other members of the Lorain County British Car Club (not just MINI's) will be at the Scottish games, that is probably what Traci was refering to.

Too bad it's on top of the vintage races at Mid-Ohio. See you there Jason.

Sent you an email Mark.

We have a a nice crew heading west (7 cars). Hopefully more! We should meet somewhere off of 90west.Since you are coming from east you know what, I'd say that you should determine the meeting time. Jon Dunn is coming from Strongsville and Greg Lucas is coming from Akorn.Word has it that this is a VERY good show!

What time are people planning to arrive. Hi Greg. This is Jeff, your local mechanic who specializes in super charger pulley installs.

8:00 AM Bob Evans Westlake

Hi Jeff! I'm looking forward to meeting you and hearing about what you do. We are meeting in the parking lot of Bob Evans at Detroit and Crocker in Westlake (just south off the Crocker Rd x-it on 90) at 8:00 AM.I'm not sure how to get to the Lorain fairgrounds yet but about to map quest. The gates open at 7:00 am for this thing so we need to get there early to meet with the other Minis. I know Traci is going early to get a good spot. Please try to be on time everyone so we can blast off. If anyone is lost or late my cell phone is 440-821-3865. I guess there is a web site for Scottish games Ohio. Haven't checked it out yet. Greg Lucas is wearing his kilt. Fortunately for everyone, I don't have one. I hope we get more people to show for this as it should be fun. Heck, Mark Wells is coming all the way from Perry!!!

Hey Greg I met you at the mini event at The Pub. I had the pure silver Mini Cooper S convertible with the chrome checkers on the fenders and red hood scoop and mirror caps. My plate is IM LIMEY. See you in Wellington. Save me a spot as I will be driving straight to the fairgrounds from my house in Rootstown. I should arrive around 8:30.

Also in my first post I was speaking to Greg Lucas about the pulley I helped him install recently.

We are meeting at Red Robin Restuarant on columbia rd. across from great Northern Mall, 1/4 mile north of route 252/columbia rd/ great northern mall exit off of I-480. 8am

Change in Plans from the Wakeman's

Traci and George (hosting Friday Night's party) may have a difficult time making the games. With the Jason *** funeral, George will be working as a part of of honor guard. We planned to leave from our house at 9am with both cars. But looks like only one of the cooper's will make it. (Of course the yellow one) It is looking like rain for the party and since I haven't heard from any of the MINI people here, I suspect my MGA peeps will represent.
Can always count on Mg'ers to show for free food.

Incidently..... Is anyone looking for a RHD classic, I know a guy...

Traci

Please never think we don't love free food too!!!

I can't speak for others, but I'm booked up for Friday night, but if I hadn't been, I'd be camping and drinking and eating and hanging out with the MG'ers and all others!!!

had a sight hitch. was mot able to pick my car up from the shop today so I will not be able to get to the where we are meeting up until about 915. Dont wait for me, I have to go right past there anyway so I will see if any of you are around.

Is everyone still going? Just checked the weather and there are supposed to be heavy storms with possible large hail pretty much all day.

might want to call and make sure it is still going on or is it rain or shine?

That didn't look like coffee to me Mark.

Must have been an exotic Scottish blend to have that amber color and foam on top.The show was a blast. We had ten cars which was much more than any other make. Lots of cool things going on. Met some really nice people(Tom/Sandy, Cambell/Jess) whom I hope stay in touch.Definately need to double the numbers next year. Who's buying a kilt?-Greg/Mowse

Tracy and George

We missed you yesterday, but understand that you attended the serviceman's funeral(which is more important). Maybe we should discuss a club event/drive to support or benefit our troops in Iraq. Anyway, we hope to see you guys on the fourth in Lakewood (9 am) or at Panera 7/12.-Greg/Mowse
