Anyone use or try an AFE 54-10561 CAI filter?

Been looking at CAI. Bavauto has the 54-10561 and I see them on eBay and the net for around $170, anyone try on their 02 non-S?

Never used, but it looks like the AFE system on their website. Also, I'm not sure how close to $170 it is on the bay, but, its only $164 with free shipping on their site. I'll probably pick one up later tonight.

I have bought a lot of items from Bavauto for my BMW, they have awesome service and super knowledgeable, but found the same part new on eBay for $129 with free shipping, so went through them. Bavauto quoted me a gain of 9HP..I'll provide feedback once I get it installed

Get the CAI for sure. Ill estimate the HP gains are around 2HP, primarily because its closed off to an extent. Is this your first mod? The mod bug will bite you soon

*The CAI has been delivered, so will be installing shortly. Bavauto quoted 9HP gain, it's very disappointing to hear I'll only obtain 2, not to mention, it doesn't seem worth it for 2 measley Horses.

Well, installed theAFE 54-10561 CAI tonight, sounds cool, but I'm not so convinced there is much change in the power anyway. Maybe towards the top of the tach..we'll see if there's any highway MPG's gained next week. I only take a spirited drive once in a while, so maybe I won't notice much..other than the growl

I just installed mine earlier--I can't prove it added any horse power, but it screams at 4000 rpm plus.

i use to have a 06 cooper w/ the aFe intake. sounds fantastic over 4000 rpms. i noticed that the engine pulled better during mid range & high end revs. there is a power gain for sure.

i took it off when i traded my 06 cooper for a 05 cooper s

up for grabs:

aFe intake for cooper
piper cross viper for cooper
