Anniversary refurbish
My car is 3 years old today (woohoo!), so I decided to mask off the grille and do some touchup with fine textured Fusion.
It matches the finish on the brake ducts.

Well, DS hides them well...but no bra, and only 21000miles on the odometer.
I think I must do the joey mod as I cant resist the challenge. I'm worried about the CF rings though as they were epoxied onto the chrome rings, being difficult to install, as they say.
Russell: you have to do the grilles--and don't even bother removing them, just do a good masking job.
cheers,

Well, I finally got around to doing painting the surrounds. It was my wedding anniversary that prompted me, I took a couple days off of work & had a lot of free time while the wife was gardening.

The surrounds were done with DupliColor T100 paint, a 1000 grit wet sand and a re-coat with the T100. For the grill blades I used a wide blackout tape. I wanted the contrast with the gloss edges & satin.
This pic is from before I remounted the stupid Maryland front plate.

I gotta do those headlight rings next…

Thanks! Yeah, MD requires a front plate. I'd be running one of those side mount kits if the car didn't already have the holes drilled from the dealer.
Sorry to butt in.

These are kind of cool, I'm sure you were already aware of them, thought I'd link anyway.

Nice work. Those headlights look mean. The whole car looks mean.

Those are the Ebay specials. $280. and ya gets whats ya pays fur...trust me. They look great from "standin' and chattin'" distance, but suffer from a close inspection. Still, few people ever care to get that close, and if they do they prolly don't have a clue--there are few outside of NAM's inner circle who know or give a darn about the subtleties of such mods. I regularly go to my dealer--the service guys spot my mods from the parking lot! I love them all

That's cool the dealer guys get into it, that's when you know you've built a proper sleeper!

TBH, the guys at Sandia Mini are just great--they always spend time with my car, and other customers who have gone a little overboard. They know who's got what, and always share their experiences from other people's successes and failures. I'm lucky to have a great dealership in town to complement what's available here on NAM!
