R50/53 First Anniversary
First Anniversary
Well, yesterday was our (Elmer and his Mini's) first anniversary. We've had 17,566 miles together so far. This has been an entirely satisfactory experience for me. Perhaps, for my Mini, it's been a bit frustrating. From my Mini's perspective, I'm a rather uncoordinated and slow driver. However, I'm getting bolder. Perhaps the second year will be better.
From my perspective, it's been great! I've had excellent service from Mini of Charleston (SC). They've helped me through a cracked windshield (replaced with no problems) and a faulty fabric seat cover (again, replaced with no problems). I've had one flat (well, not really flat) tire. That experience was somewhat ambivalent. The runflat held up fine during the event. The only indication that I had was the flat tire lamp went on. The car handled as if nothing had happened. However, the tire was ruined and I was out over $300!! I'm not sure I've ever spent much more than $300 for a set of four!!!!!!
For the second year, I hope to be able to drive the Dragon (my wife is asking me when we can do that!). Also, I'd like to take one of the Phil Wicks driving schools. We'll see.
Looking forward to another great year,
Elmer and his Mini
