I'm really thinking hard about it...have to be in Lancaster the following Monday on business so if I play my cards right I'll get most of my gas paid for.

Where are folks staying? Scattered or together?

 

I'm planning on going. I'm waiting for them to announce the hotels. Several of us have talked about going down Thursday after work and staying at the same hotel.

We're driving over from our place about a half hour away.. No twisties on the way there, tho..

Should be there for the 3 days if all goes right.. Sounds like a fun time.

Go to minitakesthestates.com and click on a link for a city. The LA one doesn't have too much information yet, it's the last one. It will be August 1-3 in Pasadena, California at the Rose Bowl.

 

Im hoping that rocket will be done from the painters by then.. Love to show off his new paint job at MTTS LA

 

Have we found a hotel that we can stay at down there?

 

i kinda want to go but i really can't figure out what the activities are. there doesn't seem to be THAT much stuff going on. if it's just a gigantic car meet, that's fine and cool but i might not want to pay $20 a person to get in

 

I was waiting for MINIUSA to put out a list of hotels. Now that MTTS has started on the east coast, they seem to have dropped the planning for the L.A. weekend.

 

I looked on expedia and rather then wait for Mini to come up with hotels and hope there are still some available, below is a list I came up with by price and all within distance of the rose bowl.

Hilton Pasadena - 129.00 night

Pasadena Inn 94 $ for 1 King Bed, 120$ for 2 Double

The hilton seems to be the best value, convenient parking, and good customer reviews. Let me know if anyone else is interested for the Hilton, I will call and see if we cant get a group rate.

 

I'm going, and am all for staying with the group. When Patrice decides if she's going, I'll know which car I'm taking.

Hey Everyone, Just got off the phone and Mini has made a group rate with the Hilton at Pasadena. Call (626) 577-1000 and let them know you are coming for MTTS. The rate is 129.00 a night.

They haven't updated yet. Haven't updated the official page since April. they're worse than me!

 

Seems (according to motoringfile.com) that MINI USA is tinkering with the Chicago and LA events based on the results in Miami and Boston.

 

Count us in! We are going but not staying overnight. Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

They have not yet posted the hotel info yet, but I know Hotels fill up quick around LA. I have talked to several hotels and they said they have been in contact with mini and the group rates have been given, but they have not posted the info. By far the nicest and closest to the rose bowl is the Pasadena Hilton. 129.00 a night is a great rate, and you can be guaranteed no one will mess with your mini...

 

I'd like to join you all on Friday night as my son is arriving in Las Vegas on Friday. Are all the Sin City Mini folks going to be staying at the Pasadena Hilton on Los Robles in Pasadena? I'd appreciate hearing if that is the case as perhaps reservations may be getting tough. Thanks Mike

OK, seems MINI USA has negotiated a rate at the Hilton but the contact hasn't been signed yet. The MINI deal discussed above is apparently worked just for our club...for now. Call the (626) 577-1000 (from Steve's message) and ask for Cheryl Nelson (group sales/catering). She claims she's gonna call me back when the group rate is finalized. Who knows, maybe the rates will go down.

All that said, I now have a reservation from Thursday night (31 July) through Sunday morning (3 Aug). I really don't want to spend $400 on a hotel (gas will be bad enough) so if anyone wants to split the room with me and save 200 samolians PLEASE let me know (I asked for a double bed just in case ).
