Well here i am as a new member, you guys made me really enthousiastic about getting a new MINI.
I really want one, but there a a couple of problems,
you guys are talking about what a great bargain it is, and it certainly is in the States
but down here in holland the MCS starts without options around 31000 us dollars this is due to our insane high car taxes of 35% +19%VAT
and might i remark we make less money here in comparison and iam still am a student.I could afford it but then the next 3 years i would have to really cut down on a lot of other expenses
Does anyone knows a legal way in which you can import cars without the added taxes. I know if you import a used car you still have to pay the tax for it afterwards.
any other solutions?

Hey thanx for your response

Epicurus has not to do something with food directly
Epicurus is a old Greec philosopher . He talks about maximizing pleasure in life
and the sacrifices you have to make for them sometimes, among many other thought.
But i think this philosphy comes close to my lifestyle and hopefully driving a MCS one day

What about taking a trip outside of the country on a train then driving a Mini back from somewhere with a more reasonable price?

I don't know about Holland, but when I was in England, I know people were taking a train to France to buy cars. Dunno if MINIs are on sale in France though. Germany maybe?
Of course, the EU is supposed to have gotten rid of all those inequalities.
Welcome to MCO btw.

Hey thanx for the replies

No if you import a MINI to Holland then then you still have to pay our special car tax of 35%+ 19VAT
But maybe the question is , is a MCS worth $31000 without any extra's oh yeah thats a other fun part too options are 50% more expensive then over there

But iam in love with this baby so i guess i just have to except it
