License plate frames

Having now had 1 week with this wonderful MCS, I realize what it really needs is license plate frames.
Any suggestions (and sources) for something memorable?
Surely this has been discussed, but yet again I failed in Search.
Thank you (did I mention I love this car?)

I bought one of the brshed aluminum ones from the MINI store at my dealer. It is brushed aluminum wiht an oblong gloss black section and has the MINI logo on it. A little pricey but everything that is associated with MINI is

I take it you got rid of the "dealer advertising" license plate frames that your dealer installed? Or... is it possible you escaped the mandatory dealer advertisement that seems to be a requirement in the auto industry? If so, you're entitled to a gold star. Ah... the trash bins that are filled with those plastic dealer advertising plates that most of us take off immediately (hey, they didn't give me a discount to carry around their advertising).

I only use clear covers for my plates, not frames. Do not really like them. In fact every car I have owned, I took off any frames around the plates.

After wasting my money on a half-dozen frames I decided the best looking frame was no frame.

Well, at least it gave me more crap to sell at our tag sale.

One good thing about my bulky dealer front license plate frame is that it protects my plate and bumper while it takes a good beating on the streets of nyc by aggressive parallel parkers. I removed the rear plate frame immediately for a thin chrome one and now a cheap plastic one that I need to conceal my parking sensor.

I bought some plain chrome frames with the MINI logo on the bottom on ebay for $5-6 each. The logo is a sticker, but so far is holding up quite well. I was surprised with the good heavy weight and they were packaged individually. The seller I purchased from isn't registered any longer. scion888 seems to be the same seller or is at least selling the same item. I purchased 3 frames to save on shipping when I placed my order.

A gold star it is, then, as I didn't get a sticker or a frame.
Of course, I didn't get a discount, free floor mats, or anything else, so that seems reasonable.
I did get a really nice car, though!

I've ordered a JCW aero kit for my MCS. The car has not arrived yet, but am curious if the dealer is going to put a front license plate + frame on my car? I can't seem to see anywhere to mount the plate on the JCW bumper and am hoping that the dealer doesn't drill into my bumper??? (I live in CA, front plates are mandatory, yet hardly enforced. I've never kept the front plate on my car and have never had a problem in over 20 years driving).

W/ my wife's car (a Toyota Camry) they put two fairly large bolt holes into the nice bumper. ...I took the frame off and had to fill the holes in, yet it's very noticeable. ..I am just hoping they don't put holes in my bumper!!! :(

We are not required to have front plates, but I called the dealer to make sure they would not drill my bumper to create their free ad. He said that the dealer puts front plates on buy request. You may be able to request that they not install one on yours.

My dealer in CA did not drill or install by front plate holder. I will probably look at the no hole plate holder when they arrive.

I have a chrome UJ LPF on the rear and a black UJ frame on the front. Love 'em both. But here's a tip: if you get either, and the chrome or black screw cover caps fall off, they are available at Pep Boys or other concerns that sell auto bling. BMW makes you buy a whole new frame.
