Expectation of my Cooper S

I met a guy today with an 03 honda accord v6 who seemed to know very little about cars. I start on the conversation of cars and mention I have a mini cooper s and receive an annoying laugh. I ask what he has, and he said an 03 accord v6 apparently with a cai and a tune. I say OK, and continue working. A couple of minutes later he mentions that he has about 300+ hp . He continues to say how he wants an exhaust and is expecting 375+ with that . So, my question is, hypothetically, how would an acceleration competition (within the laws of course) end up with my 04 mcs. (pretty much stock with alta cai)? I have no idea what sort of driver he is but his accord is auto. I dont want to say i'm the best driver, but I know how to shift of course so.... I just want to see what people think about this. I'm probably going to get abused with this post but oh well.

Well, the V-6 in the 2003 Accord was only 240 HP from the factory, so I seriously doubt he picked up 60+ additional horsepower from a CAI and "a tune".

And if he thinks he's getting another 75 horsepower from an exhaust, he needs to start smoking name-brand crack instead of whatever his supplier's selling him now...

The 2003 Accord V-6 auto did 0-60 in 7.0 seconds, while the 2004 MCS is a tick faster (about 6.9). So you'd probably be pretty evenly-matched, unless there really is something special about the "tune" on his car.

no no no, not just an exhaust. It's a Fart Canon! Don't forget!, cleaning the car adds 5HP, and the Boeing 747 Wing adds 50HP. Everybody knows that...

He's jealous that he doesn't have a mini, and is compensating.
Tell him this: "I'm happy for you, but it's still not a Mini."

I have a '99 Accord, automatic with a V6. My guess is that my Accord would handily beat my MCS to about 40 MPH. The MCS would catch up by about 60 and then blow right by it.

I have not tried this, nor do I plan to. Just a hunch.

Dean.

personal experience, stock accord, 2006 v6 vs. MCS (08 so turbo) MINI wins by 3rd gear easy, but you will see his tail lights from the line while the turbo lags then whooooosh....

that is auto vs auto though. keep your revs in the power band, but watch the squealing, and you should be fine.

as for the "tune".... he could have the "tornado" that makes air move around in a circle so you go fast like cheetah or lighting. Or he uses 91 ocatane in his v6, or even better, 87 and then puts in the high octane mix to make it 87.5!

From someone currently driving an Integra, he must have a Type-R, Powered by Mugen and a Calvin pi$$ing on a Mitsu symbol stickers. Each of those add 10hp to the wheels.

Given his lack of knowledge, one could assume with 99.9% accuracy he is like the rest of the people who put on stickers and crap azz beer can exhaust and call it a race car, ignorant and a pain in a real tuners azz. Those accords weight a decent amount, and are more like a comfort cruiser or grocery getter.
When you are done, Im sure youll hear all sorts of crazy excuses. Hell if you got the time and he really wants to prove how fast he is, take him to a track.....Not the 1/4 straight one either
