Fixin' Fiona on memorial Day!

I'm so pumped... I'll be swapping out Fiona's shot motor mounts this weekend, along with installing a polished rocker cover and T-bar set. I plan to also to some wire tidying that I've been putting off...

Mini tinkering and repair is a sickness... yet, strangely, I don't feel the need for a cure.

Wish me luck! I'll have help, so I have confidence that it'll get done right, but still... this is ME With a WRENCH...

May the force be with you. Wish I could sit there in a lawn chair with a keg and watch.

Good luck and have fun!

I'll be knee deep in a carb/header swap on a Spitfire as well as fixing the e-brake and license plate lights on my truck and hopefully installing struts and camber plates on a friend's '03 MCS... Seems like I'm always wrenching on something...

Good call Norm. Sometimes a beer is all it takes for you to get a better outlook at the job at hand.
I am doing that now actually. I was just out lining up the front panels. Got the left hinge panel sorted this afternoon. Now I am lining up the left wing and clamping in place. Its been off several times for some slight adjustments here and there. Need a couple minutes away before going back to it.

I ended up fixing my Mini too. :( Bypass hose came loose and overheated the car.

Whooo-hooo!! One new CV boot, dog-bone bushing set and a modicum of cursing and swearing later, and the car's running GREAT!! Paul even had time to put this bit o' "bling" under the bonnet:

The only snag we hit was that, in our (OK, in my) haste to test the repair, I drove off with the wheen lugs only half-snugged. I went around the block then asked Paul to listen to the weird new klunking noise... We got to the end of the bolck and Paul laughed and reminded me that I'd not properly tightened the nuts! No harm done...

I'm so pumped!! Paul, if you're reading this, I know I said it while you were here, but you're the BEST!!! The next time either part needs to be replaced again, I'll be ready.

You have a very good friend there in Paul.

Glad you got your Mini motoring again.

Glad you guys had a good day! Though I'm pretty sure I heard you swear once or twice. All the way down here.

That must have been Paul... he was doing all the work while I passed tools, held lights and pestered him with questions.

And, really, Paul swears like this:

"Aw, SHHH.... sugarwater!!".

It was kinda endearing. Me, I was just smiling all morning.

The engine looks good. If you ever feel the need to take the car apart you could take off the fan shroud and the starter cover and paint them. It'd make the engine bay look better.

A full fan removal/cleaning/repaint is definitely on the list.
