Has anyone tried the mini magnetic doorguards/molding strips available from Roadstar Solutions? My Cooper is about to board ship in Southampton and, as a guy who hates dings, I want to be ready to protect as best I can. I hate breaking up the contour of the side panels, so see these as a possible solution since it seems I can just put them in place only when forced to park precariously. Any thoughts positive or negative other than just live with dings? Thanks! :???:

That's a really interesting idea! How much are they? As long as they're compact enough to jam under the seat when you're not using them, I think they sound like a great purchase.

I think it they are at Roadstar Solutions. I bookmarked the exact page so can't get to their homepage to be sure. If it doesn't work to Google the words, Here's what I have bookmarked:

Lemme know if neither way works.

Glad others think it seems like a possbily good thing.

Link doesn't work. If I Google "Roadstar Solutions," all I get is an article about truck drivers trashing bathrooms and leaving bottles of urine in parking lots.

Just click on this link then the MINI part: http://64.225.94.154

They look interesting. I wonder if they would scrape the paint or move when bumped? For $54 it's a lot cheaper that having a dent removed.

Could THIS be what you are talking about?

Looks like a good idea.

Nice! That one's only $17, and it looks like it protects much better!

Nope, but I also found that one trying to trace where I found the strips.

I traced how I found and marked the page, but that still hasn't led me to the the homesite it is from. Right too that typing in the page doesn't work. What I'd done is searched "mini door guard" and that page is one that comes up part way down the first page. The BMW one you found is further down a Google list.

I guess either someone that has better cyber prowess than me might find what site the page is in. I'd hate to have to go through the shopping cart to find out.

Hey, Ryanide, thanks for finding it. I agree that those other ones look like they might be functional too. Maybe I should just dip my mini in thick rubber...naw.

I don't know about the rest of the country but here in NYC, someone will take it off, then promptly slam open their door onto your car
