How easy is it to switch out the orange side markers?

The dealer quoted $199 to change the orange reflectors on the side turn indicators to white.
Thought that was alittle steep and that maybe I could do it myself.

Is there a DIY on this? Is it easy to do?

Thanks for any help or suggestions!

It is very easy!

Just pop open the bonnet,
Slide the side marker out,
then pop out the light!!

It takes like a minute! The first time I tried to take off to side marker I had trouble just had to put a little muscle into it!

They sell the marker at outmotroing.com if you need to buy it still.

Good Luck!!

Are you talking about the turn signal in the light or the side markers on the arches?

Yes just like what I said above but I have pictures now!

First step: Open the bonnet!

Second step: Slide the marker towards the front of the bonnet.

Third step: Disconnect the light from the wire.

Last step: Pop out the light!

Then the new light should pop in like the old light. I hope this helped if you have any more questions feel free to ask!

MiniBella, what year is your mini? Once you have the parts, it should be as easy as changing blown bulbs. There should be a manual somewhere on this page in the download area. http://www.motoringfile.com/diy/

Good luck.

Edit, I saw your signature 2008 MC... plus Dory the Cooper has your answer!

Thanks guys! It's 2008 arriving at the dealer tomorrow. Am just finalizing the accessories and dealer installed trim with them. Was abit taken a back by the $199 quote. Seeing as the reflectors themselves are only about $40 a piece that would make the labor about $115. How long do they think it takes?

Sent an email to my MA to confirm we are talking about the same thing. She's been great to work with so far... maybe we just need to clarify things.

It will take maybe 5 to 10 minutes at the most. It is very easy to do....trust me for someone who has never worked on a car before till I got my baby Dory! Plus I am a girl

If you have any problems shot me a message and I can help you out! I am thinking of buying the cleared bulb but I might wait a month or so. I just did my first mod and now there is no stopping me! It really is addicting!
