SHOULD only effect warranty for doors, windows, in-door speakers, etc.... but possible that they could give you some grief about top issues also if they could claim that the different door motion caused top alignment or door sealing issues... but should have no effect on warranty for other parts of the car...
You could as George at Mini-Madness. His yellow MINI has the lambo doors. I'm sure he could tell you if there are any issues with the hinges, windows, ect.
They aren't for me and it looks like it would be a little hard to get in and out of the MINI with about half the door in the way. If you could find doors like what the put on Aston Martins, where the open out and a little bit up as well, but I guess the opposite, up and a little out. Just a thought.
Not bad, I like the ones that go straight up rather then up and to the side. Does your wobble like some of the aftermarket kits? Do they use shocks, hydro, hinges?
just bought it-wont have it for 4-5 days--but will let you know. if they wobble i will put back the original hinges and get back stock-dont want issues with them even if they look cool. will let you know what i find
You have to watch. Many of the kits for the MINI only have the doors open about 45 degrees. Looks very hard to get in and out of without beaning yourself. The Lambotek sound good and open nearly 90 degrees... http://www.autofashion.co.uk/lambo_doors1.htm
Haha, funny thing about this pic, it was taken at a gas station literally 3 minutes from my house. That Honda belongs to a complete tool that went to my high school
Yes they first open out then roll up. i have had the car only a few weeks, and at first went back and forth on keeping them or not. but i have ended up liking them. it does appear there are some different kits for this, but mine open the doors enough to get in and out without raising them--but i am small-only 5 foot 7--so might not be great for big guys and gals. it does have all the bling value you can ask for for sure and detailing the doors much easier with them. i can see both sides of the argument on them-and if they had not come with the car, unlikely i would have paid the big ticket to get them installed.
