JCW springs

Can the JCW "lowering" springs be purchased as a stand-alone item, apart from the JCW sports suspension?

Get in touch with Morristown Mini (Morristown, NJ) and have them fax you the order form. There's 3 part numbers for different spring rates dependent on your car's build. $321.00 delivered to your door.

Yes, they ask for VIN to determine build specs.

He's correct you can get the springs by themselves no problem. They do want the VIN when I order them to get the correct rates.

PM me your VIN and I'll get them priced for you. I sell to CN, the shipping is what hurts.

That is odd. I am also in canada and bought my JCW parts from Morristown without any issues. They cannot SHIP to canada, but they can certainly sell to canada. You can have them shipped to a parcel service in a nearby state and then pick them up and declare them at the border. Usually pay just applicable taxes (no duty) when you do this and still works out far cheaper than buying from a Canadian dealer.

Your dampening rate will be problematic if you don't switch the struts at the same time you swap out the springs. It'll start bouncing around corners like the other poorly tuned ricers out there. The struts need to be tuned for your spring/weight combination. (said differently, the springs are spec'd based on your strut/weight combination). Based on your VIN, the dealer will provide the right spring rate for your vehicle weight, assuming you are using JCW struts. If you are not using those struts, the spring/dampening rates will not match properly for your vehicle weight.
