R56 Tracking thru MINIUSA Owners Lounge
Tracking thru MINIUSA Owners Lounge
I ordered mine on 5/8 and got the production number... and on MiniUSA site, status is still "on order" after 10 days...
Does it usually take this long, or is there a delay on updates?

Ours took about 2 weeks to start production. 1-866-ASK-MINI normally has more upto date information (their automated tracking), and a representative will be able to give you even more accurate information.
The Owners Lounge tracking I find is normally 3-4 days behind

Slotted 5/10, Scheduled for production week 23
I got my production number when I put the deposit down on 5/12. The MA had slotted it on 5/10 based on my verbal agreement over the phone. The Owner's lounge says 'On order", but 1-866-ASK-MINI says it's scheduled for production week 23, which is first week of June.

I ordred through BMW Military Sales and received a production number and start week (33). I am unanble track my production number until the order has been registered for export. A couple of things I found interesting about military sales is that they seem to have slots much further out than stateside dealers. Anyway, I'm extremely happy about the money I am saving and that helps cushion the wait.
So you all know, there are a few levels of "Pre-Production". Dealers get a certain allotment each week for a production vehicle. They can use these slots to fill up their lot or fulfill customer orders. If you're lucky, they'll swap you out with an allotment that's just going on the lot and you'll start pretty quickly. If they're full up with orders, you'll get an allotment for a later production week. Thus the delay in some cases to go from On Order to Scheduled for Production.
