Does anyone make a buggy that fits in the boot?

I have both a Mclaren buggy and an Mclaren umbrella stroller. Both are too long. Figured they are english, so they should fit right

Any recomendations?

Pram might since they fold "short" but they are for infants. My youngest is a year old...

With 2 kids one needing a buggy or stoller, I will have to keep using my 11mpg Cayenne vs my 30+mpg MCSa on minor trips...

Not sure what a buggy is since I'm only just about to be a new father in three months, but as for a stroller, we're going to use this..A Quinny Zapp. Folds right down and fits into the Mini's boot. There's a pic floating around illustrating this in some baby car seat or stroller thread in General Mini Talk. I already bought the troller and the Maxi Cosi infant car seat which fits into the stroller as well.

I have the Zapp and I love it. I believe I have some pictures of that vs. a snap and go Graco frame in my gallery. If not, I know I put them on a thread a while back.

Just got the Quinny Zapp ourselves. It's perfect.

A bonus is that it should also fit as carry on for planes.

John.

I noticed a rear-facing car seat in your cooper. Brittax? What did you use when the baby was an infant? Sorry, just trying to figure out what to use for our Cooper S.

If you do a search for carseats, you'll get a lot of answers to that question! Here's mine:

We got the Cooper when Gavin was 5 months old, (and 18 lbs... he's a big boy...) But we use a Britax Roundabout in the Cooper as he'd pretty much outgrown his infant seat at that point. I think in a pinch, the Graco Snugride will fit (maybe move the seat forward a bit... but honestly, it didn't fit very well in out SUV!), based on what I've read. Top rated and affordable for infant carrier seats. My husband sits comfortably in front of the car seat. I use a mirror that securely attaches to the back headrest (buckles tightly-- important for safety reasons) and with that, I can tip the mirror and see him in the mirror and traffic behind me.

With a REALLY little one, I think the infant seat would be much easier to get in and out with. Just drop the "bucket" in the base and you're done. Gavin can hold his head up, and cooperates a little more getting in and out, thus the ability to use a stationary carseat. I believe others have used the seat that you can mount on the Zapp-- but I'm blanking on the name at the moment.

I've mastered the hip swivel required to get him in and out by myself, but it takes a little practice. (When Dad's around, I hop in the back, he hands me the baby, and I buckle and jump out. By myself, a bit tougher.. but doable.)

The Britax Diplomat is another that people rave about that fits. It has more side impact protection. Amazon.com often does "outlet" sales of Britax car seats, so I got mine for about $50 off the price.

If you go with an infant seat to start, Graco also makes a snap-and-go carseat frame that the bucket part of the seat snaps onto. I have a picture of how that fits in the boot as well. The Zapp alone would be tough for a really little one.

Enjoy your little one. The MINI is a GREAT family car. We got a cargo box for the roof just to give us a little more space for "stuff."

Thanks for the info. And I've been reading through the threads about seats. Just saw you pic so I thought I'd ask.

how about the Maclaren Volo? We just bought one this past weekend. I will try to see how it fits in the boot with the seats up.

I just got a Quinny Zapp because of this thread, I have to thank you guys, its the best folding stroller on the market for the price. Which is actually saying a lot coming from me, I happen to be a bit of an elitist when it comes to my baby gear. This stroller is so much better than the Mclarens I've been trying to avoid (they look no better made than the $29 umbrella strollers you get), and saved me oh about $350, as I was tempted to get a Bugaboo Bee, (I already have a Bugaboo Chameleon, which is a great stroller, but it takes up a ton of room). The Quinny folds up great, comes with everything you need, is perfect for the mini boot, as a plane carry-on, and the materials and construction are top notch (something thats rare in the world of baby products, i.e. Graco, Chicco, and even Peg. to some extent.)

Glad you like it!! I LOVE ours still. Gavin is just starting to be able to use high chairs in restaurants-- so we usually just pop him in the stroller and wheel him into the restaurant.

Hubby remarks that it is a little less "off road" capable than our bigger stroller-- but I find it to be much better when it comes to maneuvering in tight spaces.. kind of like my MINI vs. the SUV..

Oh as for Toddler/child Car seats I have both the top-rated Britax Boulevard, and the Recaro Young Sport. I (and my wife) really hate the Britax compared to the Recaro, its just so much more, bulky, heavy and complicated (I guess in part because it can rear face as well). The Recaro is perfect for the Mini (unfortunately my wife like it so much better it remains in the Audi) its a very slim and easily maneuverable seat, while not giving up anything in comfort, safety, or quality.

I have used a Britax since my son was born. It is the Marathon I believe. It will last until he is 65 lbs., so we only had to buy one seat (one for each car). Couldn't be happier with it. They get great test reviews as well.
