R50/53 Major Mods (But Very Slow)
Major Mods (But Very Slow)
Ok, I own a 2005 Mini Cooper S. I have a long list of modifications that I am planning to do to my Mini that will take a long time to purchase. About 2 to 3 years. I was wondering after looking over my list that you could give suggestions or heads up if the Modifications I have picked will cause any problems or damage. I just bought my Mini and discovered the potential. So please help I am used to Modifying Jeeps not Cars.

WOW, that is one big list.
I suggest you decide first if you want to mod for looks or go.
After that get a solid game plan. If it is for go how fast will you get the mods, because that will tell you when to do things like custom tune the ECU.
Some of the mods are not necessary on a supercharger, like a turbo timer, and some are missing, like an underdrive pulley.
You may want to do some more reading here and get an idea of your go mods or call one of the vendors, I suggest Way Motor Works, to get a game plan.

wow thats a great list!... i agree with deciding if you want to go for performance or looks.. you can go for both but maybe you want to get the performance first then go for looks.. or the other way around.
check out the forum and see what everybody is doing. I would deff. start out with the basics. get a pulley. i like the 15%, intake and exhaust. but yeah there is so much you can do. you just need a plan with your priorities in order.
looking forward to seeing your car develop! and welcome to the forum!

Taking into account the cost of all of that, and that you want to have it all bought in the next 3 years, take that wad of cash and give Jan at RMW a call. He can get you 230 hp easy for a lot less than all those other mods, and Jan's stuff is made to work together as a complete unit.
Step one supercharger pulley
For steps 2-50 give me a call and we'll make a plan specificly for your car and use.

WOW That is a GREAT first post! Tons of good mods in there. I can't wait to see how slow you actually do it. Sometimes the mod bug can bite pretty hard.
Let me know if I can help with anything on this build.

Looks solid, brother. Welcome to the stock club
My list looks a lot like that, not quite as much, though.
+1 for going back and forth on purchasing show and go modifications.

keep plugging away at the mods list. im in the same boat as you are as far as slowly adding mods. I bought my 03 in late 06 and it was bone stock. to date:
15% Alta V1
2% Alta Crank
Alta CAI V1
Bonnet Viper stripes
35% tint all around
JCW carbon Fiber hood scoop
JCW CF mirror caps
JCW spoiler
Aux input
Invidia Catback
Beltline Blackout
Alta 3" stubby antenna
Eagle F1 GSD3 205/50/16
Pro painted intercooler cover
R53BFUN custom plate
Stewart Warner Atl/Boost guage kit
I think thats everything, Next is the JCW brake kit and then JCW 380 injectors, RMW tune, and start on the suspension.
I believe in you and good luck!

Only Familiar with Mods for JEEP ?
Nice Wish list. But you would be better off getting a slightly wrecked MINI if replacing all those components ......
BTW ~ What did you do with the JEEPS you modified ?
Race them in the Grande Prix ?

Well Thanks for the ideas. My plan is Power and Performance First. I am however aware of the expensive costs that I am facing but my #1 goal is to make this Mini be able to roll with maybe a 911 or possibly the M3. But please do correct me if this is not possible it is my first mini, Actually thought I was to tall.
Another Idea is if you can make a totally different list and I may compare it.

Make the Mini Breathe Better
At the top of my "Performance list" for ANY Mini Would be to make her Breathe Better. Intake, Exhaust system, and a 15-19% Reduced Superchager pully (Alta) to raise the psi, then a Short Shift Kit. ( didn't see that on your list. ) Then Ignition and wires.
And don't forget to get some Brembo's to slow ya down.

Upon further consideration, you don't need those carbon fiber bits. The MINI doesn't weigh much to begin with, and the weight savings from carbon fiber parts is slight. The cost/weight savings ratio is too high. Remove interior parts first; save money and weight.
