Pre-Dragon meltdown

I read the threads about everyone's Minis having all of these strange problems right before the MOTD begins. I always feel bad for the people having problems.

Well, it's time to throw a little sympathy my way. This morning while coming home from Home Depot, I suddenly had a Christmas tree light up on my idiot lights. "Service Engine Soon", "ABS", and "DSC light" all glowing at me. Then the pedal got mushy and things went from bad to worse. My service rep at Global in ATL got me in Tuesday AM. Hopefully this is just a bad sensor or a part that is in stock at the dealer. They have always been real good to us in the past, and they know we are going to the Dragon on Wed.

If all else fails, we might have to put some hood stripes on the loaner. Think a Malibu would blend in at Fontana? I am keeping happy thoughts that this will all work out well in the end. We live in Chattanooga, so the drive is not too long to ruin our fun.

Has anyone else had a similar issue? We have an 06 MC/SC Chili Red.

Mike

Dude, what's happening to our MINIs? Mine was dead as a doornail Thursday morning and I still don't have it back. Ugg, here's hoping we both get our cars back in time.

if it is a sensor that is an easy fix, I swapped out my bad one in about 20 minutues with inproper tools in my garage.

While replacing the brakes yesterday, I found two nails in the driveway. Luckily they hadn't found my new tires yet.

I was given a Malibu as a loaner while my Mini was at the bodyshop. That thing is huge. I literally had to climb into the trunk to retrieve something that had rolled to the back. Both feet. Off the ground.

I will say I was impressed how well the Malibu holds on to the road. Hopefully the Mini will make it, but the Malibu wouldn't be awful. Its better than the neon that one of our club members was given. He just stayed home that year.
