I put MB Quart Premium 6.5" seperates in. The tweeter snapped into the OEM location....secured by a little hot melt to be sure. The woofers fit with a 3/4" MDF trim ring, cut to match the OEM speaker outside diameter. I suspect most quality midbasses would be the same.

x2.

most any 6.5" mid will fit in the stock location, you just need to make 3/4" (i had some that needed 1", so i used 2 1/2" pieces of MDF)

anyways, the mids will probably be the hardest part for you, just becuase you have to make the rings. 1" tweets should fit in the stock pods with minimal work, hell you can even get them to stay with little zipties

if i can stay with the 5 1/4 size that would be good...im not looking to cut and trim and modify things to to get an extra inch or so in speaker size....if i have to ill make small modifications but im not looking for any outward signs that the speakers have been modified

if I remember right, you need to do rings for a 5.25. The OEM speaker has a spacer molded in. Very few thin mount speakers out there and you leave a lot of performance on the table with them.
