Hey all, I've been wanting to put stripes on my car since I got it. The problem is that I don't know what style, color combo to use. A friend of mine owns a sign shop so I can get pretty much any color/style I want. I'm working on going with the blue/chrome look on the outside, adding chrome accessories here and there. So what do you think would look good with the car? I was thinking of doing a 2 tone stripe set with silver or chrome on the outside and a navy blue stripe over it in the middle. But I would like to get others' opinions. Here is a picture if there are any Photoshop buffs out there. Please let me know what you think would look good. Thanks in advance!

 

Classic White stripes, but I'm an old fuddy-duddy. Keep it simple and clean. Just my opinion. Anything you want and like will be just right.

I saw a car with hibiscus flower stripes. So with that in mind, maybe some stripes using graphic elements might be cool.

 

My vote goes to White goo
That's the only option that would look good on Blue.

 

I normally would prefer the white on that body color, but with black top and mirrors it may not look best (unless you carry the white stripes over the roof also )

 

White bonnet stripes and carry the white over to the mirror caps.

 

The top is body color, right?

I'm all about chrome (people who know me are rolling their eyes right now )

Anyway, I have black stripes with chrome edges on my all PW. I don't know if I've ever seen white with chrome edges, but if you're roof is body color, I think that would look cool, with either chrome or white mirror caps.

Yes, my roof is body color. Keep in mind I have a sunroof, so the stripe options are limited up there. Thanks for the suggestions so far. I wanted to try and avoid white if I can as everyone has white stripes. Any further suggestions?

Yes, that thread helps out a lot, thanks! I think I'm partial to the offset design, but it's gotta be unique. I'll see what my graphic designer friend can come up with. If anyone out there can photoshop me up some quick stripes, I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

IMHO red would look real sexy on that color blue. Maybe a 1-4-1 stripe right down the middle.

I've been happy with my driver's edge plaid stripe. I really wanted the reverse pattern on the roof but they couldn't do white so that the black wouldn't show through. I may do chrome though. I toyed with doing an argyle stripe too, but decided that was a bit too preppy. IMO plaid is just a variation on checkers.

i like the 1-4-1 right down the middle, but i'd use
black in the middle and 2 small chromes on the outside.

I hope those white-only checkered stripes have clear vinyl and does not consist of a bunch of white squares.

If it does consist of dozens of white squares, you either...

A) Have the patience of Jobe and don't mind cleaning those edges, or

B) Aren't OCD and don't give a damn about the edges.

 

Okay...here goes. "Stewie" had his feelings hurt when he heard that nobody likes black stripes on a Hyper Blue Mini. So, here is how our little Stewie is dressed up . Not everyone's cup of tea but thats the great thing about owning a Mini....they come in all kinds of clothes.


PS. The Mini08 license plate signifies my daughter's graduation date. Stewie is actually going on 3 years old in June.

Just a matter of preference, more subdued look or the more stand-out look for stripes.

Besides, no such thing as BAD stripes on a MINI. Well...
