Tested all speed sensors and still have DSC light, and tire pressure light....

Bought a new front sensor and tried it on both sides and nothing changed. Then I swapped the rear ones from side to side so they both work since the speedometer worked with both. The dsc light and the tire pressure light were not on, but after I had the engine swapped the lights came on. What could they have left disconnected that is causing both light to come on? I would imagine there is a place where all the data from the sensors goes. Could that be the issue? Or is there something else in the wheel hub that is preventing one of the sensors from providing a signal to the system? Thanks in advance.

One more tidbit. The engine I put in my 03 non S is from an 05 non S. Could there be something not compatible with the engine?

I didn't have an engine swap but I do, from time to time, have the DSC and Tire Pressure monitor lights illuminated. I find that if I shut off my headlights and turn off the ignition and then restart, 9 times out of 10 the idiot lights will be off. It doesn't happen every time I run the MINI either.
I'm wondering if, when washing my MINI engine bay, water may have caused the intermittent problem.

Is the abs light on as well?
Also check the steering angle sensor, and the dsc motion sensor,
and connections to the abs unit.

Only the dsc light and tire pressure lights are on. Should I just check to see if the steering angle sensor is connected? Or is there a way to test it? Where is the dsc motion sensor located? I did check where the wiring harness connects to the abs unit. That is the unit located in the engine compartment next to the passenger side windshield area right?

Dave, when you say shut off your headlights are you starting your car with your headlights then shutting them off after? Are you starting your car or just the ignition?

How's your wheel alignment? I've had those two lights triggered by funky alignment settings that made the steering wheel off center (turning right to make the car go straight).

Get your car scanned

and see what the system thinks is up. that will probably give you a good start....

Jason, the car drives straight, even when I let go of the stearing wheel. Matt, I will give that a try, but I hate dealing with mechanics since the scan tools don't work for anything other than the engine ecu. Do you know of a scan tool that gives codes for the break system that I can buy on ebay? So I guess the 05 motor is compatible enough for my 03?

Jeff, when I have this issue I discovered I should shut off the engine and the headlights... then I start the car, wait for all the iodit lights to shut off and then turn on my lights.
I mention this because I've tried shutting off the car and restarting with the lights on and the DSC/TPM lights would remain lit. Strange electrical thing happening.

I have the same problem.. The scanner said it was an overboost problem. I have since replaced both sensors and it still happens. I did replace my head last year and since then it is off when I turn the motor on but when I get on it all three lights come on.
