My first Oil service

Welcome to the chronicles of Agnetha. Previously I discussed my 10K mark. To recap, she passed with flying colors. Now for the second installment: OIL Service

I contacted my most excellent MA, Amanda, at South Bay Mini for my first scheduled service. With the amount I drive, I was able to schedule 2 weeks in advance. I passed off the remaining 1600 miles to service within those 2 weeks. I went into South Bay at 10am on a Wednesday. In addition to servicing my oil and cabin filter, I mentioned the weeping washer issue, stuck pixel on my nav, stain on bonnet stripe (due to weeping washer and a 1/2 to 1 second noise I hear when starting cold. They decided to keep her overnight so they could check out the noise. I also mentioned that I get a lot of black on the tailpipe so I asked them to verify that the mixture was right. Amanda set me up with Stacy, my new SA. She confirmed my appointment the day prior and all was set. After dropping off Agnetha at the doctor's office , I was provided with a BMW 328i rental. I proceeded off to work.

The next day, I was called in the morning to tell me that my oil was done, the noise was normal, the mixture checked out ok and Mini approved my new nav screen. The Nav screen was on national backorder so it is uncertain how quickly it will arrive. They were unable to get an appointment to get the bonnet stripe replaced so we agreed to do it when the Nav came in. I picked up my baby and found her sparkling clean and vacuumed on the inside.
This was by far the most pleasant service experience I have ever had with any car. My baby has more pep in her now with her brand new oil. The OBC basically said the change was due at 16500. That is about when it went to 0 miles. Stacy and Amanda did an excellent job in setting things up as well as the customer service was excellent. This is the main reason I selected South Bay over the other So Cal dealers. I heard lots of good stories here and I can say my experience was great. My next service is the vehicle inspection due in about 13000 miles. Should be ready for front brakes by then as well. Maybe the nav will be in and they can do everything at once.

Glad to hear about your "pleasant service experience"- that's always a breath of fresh air. I haven't had my first oil change yet, so I hope mine goes as well as your's.
