Just installed cf strut bar

Hey I just intalled a carbon fiber strut bar i purchased from a fellow Namer. I had a feeling the ecu cover wouldnt fit but i was hoping by some grace it would fit . So i installed it and i was able to squeez it in. So i took it out for a spin...it felt nice..popped the hood looked for anything wrong looked fine. Closed hood and the right side doesnt fit fully . So im planning on going out later tonight and taking off the ecu cover and shaving it down a bit. Im guessing the ecu doesnt like heat so ill do my best to leave as much plastic on there as possible. Anything else i should look out for?

the material attached to the under side of the hood needs to pack down or be shaved a little sometimes.

no haha i closed the bonnet and didnt really look at it. so i took it out for a spin and looked at it again and i then saw that the bonnet locks but the right side stays up. I can still fit a finger under the right side to get the bonnet lock but it wont open cause its latched

Why are you shaving the ECU cover? That's not going to make the strut bar any lower... you need to get rid of some of the matting material on the underside of the hood.

Moss sells a low profile ECU cover if your experiment doesn't work so well. Here is a link

If the ECU cover fit under the bar then IT"S NOT THE PROBLEM.

The hood liner is hitting the bar. Try the old soak and slam. Get a spray bottle and soak the area of mat that hits the bar. Once it is saturated slam the hood shut a couple time. You may need to repeat this a couple times but it does work.

If you still have the problem then try trimming the liner.

My $.o2
