ALTA wont work with JCW?

whats going on guys, i called a guy from JSC speed today to ask if the alta r56 cold air intake would fit on my 2007 JCW cooper s and he said it would fit but it wouldnt be a good idea to put that intake on the jcw since its already modified and also said it'll prob. affect it in a bad way ... so i was wondering if any one out there has that intake on their JCW mini or if they have any other ones they would recommmend... thanks alot...
wass.

If you have a JCW, it would have a JCW intake. Why would you want to change it out?

prob. because the JCW intake is garbage....my dad has a JCW kit on his '08, and its only a new filter with a box that has a badge on it...it really doesnt do that much...the ALTA intake will do more for the car, but idk if it will have problems running with the JCW ECU upgrade/ect. but I can see why you are looking to replace it to get a better sound and a better intake....BUT if i were you, look at the DDM intake...AWESOME! I have it on my car and it was def. worth it, and its $100 cheaper than the ALTA check it out from www.waymotorworks.com Waylen knows his stuff and I REALLY like it a TON better than the ALTA...DDM intake with a K&N filter, and boy can you hear the blow off valve

I second that

DDW Works intakes are a much better design both street and race than Alta. The street intake is only 190.00 and looks and sounds awesome. Plus the newly redesigned street intake has the Maf directly in line with the filter so the readings are smooth as silk.

I have a feeling the upcoming M7 Super AGS CAI is going to be rather special also.

Most of the aftermarket intakes will flow more than the JCW. It just comes down to how much you want to spend and brand you want to use. I know hendricks488 sounds great, I was driving it earlier today. I sell them all so you can choose anyone you want.

On a side note the R50 Way/DDM Cooper non S intake is the only intake that DDM and I have worked together to develop. He gets all the credit for the R56 and R53 intakes. Just don't want to steal credit when I didn't earn it.

JCW has to give you a filter

and some other stuff so that you think the value is there cause all the power is from the programming. Being plugged into a factory tool for 15 min for $2k leaves a bad value feeling with the customer....
