Clear Bra installers in NJ??

Hey guys, I've already noticed 3 chips on the nose of my 2008 MCS and it is only a couple of months old. That being said, I'm seriously considering the clear bra.

Has anyone in NJ installed it? If so, can you tell me where, how much it cost and the quality of the install (i.e. can you tell it is there)?

I'm especially interested in doing this at MINI dealers vs. non dealer shops.

Just had mine installed yesterday from Chris at:
http://www.allinthedetailsnj.com/clearbra.htm

It is just around the corner from morristown mini. Very nice install, very clean. Price for a custom full bonnet/bumpers/headlights was $650. I am happy with it, nice people

they do enter the car details into a computer which then "prints" the bra. I still consider it custom (though you may not) because I was able to work with chris to let him know the specific parts I wanted covered.

its probably not a good "while you wait" install. I guess it could take as long as 4 hours for the whole front? Depends on how much they cover i suppose. Give them a call.

Chris told me I'd be better off leaving the car there for the day. On the bright side, they do work on Saturdays. dleavy, did you have them do the mirrors? When you look at your car, can you tell the clear bra is there? If you have pics, that'd be great.

I didnt bother with the mirrors. If you don't know that it's there, you really can't see it. When you look closely, you can see the lines & some ridges, but they did a very good job & it looks great!

I have a pair of the factory magnetic stone guards I would like to have duplicated in the clear bra material.

I'm sure they could easily trace it and have their machine spit out a pair. Installation-wise it should be a no brainer so I'll do it at home. I even have the solution left over from the factory rear bumper guard film.

But I'm gonna wait until the weather gets warmer.

clear bra

When I used to work at Princeton, Rocky (the Dent Man) had developed a clear bra that covered the whole front end. He used materials by 3M and had developed the template on his own. You have to leave your car overnight so the car can be done out of the sun and allowed to set. You can't even tell it's there. He does a beautiful job because he does things like wraps the clear coating under the chrome to the headlights so it doesn't collect the dirt from the road. You might gasp at the price (two years ago when I was there it was $750) but it is really worth it. I never got any complaints from any of my customers that did it.

Contact the MINI sales manager, Jeremy Golis, and ask him.

Debbie

Bill Rochford ("Rocky") 609 647 6065 did my wife's MINI (through Princeton MINI) and my Porsche (in my garage). He does very good work and stands behind it. If there is a problem he will make it right. For the MINI I don't think he uses a template. He hand cuts the film for a custom fit. It takes a long time and is not cheap, but well worth it IMHO. For the MINI we got full frontal coverage and doors too ($1500); I think it's called the Track Package. The full coverage install is very clean and hard to spot the seams because he pops all the lights off and wraps the film around the edges. I don't know if there would have been a price difference but we went through the dealer because of convenience. I got a free loaner car when I had to take the MINI in for a bra adjustment. If you are interested I think he was working on a windshield protection film too, but he wasn't ready to sell it 6 months ago.

Chris' shop does amazing jobs. I've had 2 co-workers get clear bra installed on their car and they love it. I'd recommend getting it installed by him if you're in the Morristown area.

When Umberto (spelled phonetically) did my car, it was totally custom. No computer guided cutter, just a knife, some solution & patience. I did wait there, occupied myself in the showroom, and some of the other stores. You can't watch... he does not like it.
