This thread was over in the Coupe section, but I thought I'd add a Clubman version. On your Clubman with the Chrome Line trim option, are there chrome trim rings on the front speakers in the doors? I have the chrome line option and the fluid silver dash option, and my trim rings are gloss black, although the build site on MINIUSA shows chrome trim rings. Anyone else with / without these trim rings that ordered this option?

 

I've got the chrome trim ring option on the Clubman and my speakers have gloss black rings too. Hmmmm....

I never noticed it, but indeed they are gloss black.

Thanks for the responses. It may not be correct, but at least it's consistent.... The build site option description does not mention any trim rings on the speakers, but they are shown in the illustration. Could just be the spec was changed and the photo wasn't. Of course, I didn't notice it either until someone in the Gen2 Coupe forum had the same question. I just wanted to make sure I got what I paid for.

 

I ordered the chrome line on my 07 MCS and all the door speakers have the chrome trim. Later in 07/early 08 I think it surfaced that the trim disappeared from the speakers.

 

I ordered the chrome line on my 07 MCS as well. My car arrived with black trim on the door speakers (it actually took me a while to notice). When I asked about them, the dealer said that was how cars with the premium audio were shipping. I pointed out that the mini catalog specifies that the chrome line includes the door speakers. My dealer then ordered replacement trim without any fuss.

 

I sent an email to my MA asking the same question, why the build site shows chrome trim but the speaker covers are gloss black. I'll let everyone know the response. I also have the stereo upgrade.

 

When did you order/build yours? I think this changed at some point thru the 07 season. My dates are below.

 

I ordered mine late September 07.

 

My clubman only has chrome trim on the air ducts. tach, speedo and cup holders. If we are gon retro, I think that there should have been a chrome ring on the steering wheel.

 

On the R56, if you upgraded the stereo and purchased the the chrome line you will get the black trim around the speakers. I would assume the situation is similar for the R55.

 

Nimcosi- thanks, that makes sense. Too bad the MINI build site doesn't mention this when you select both the stereo upgrade and the chrome line, but if that's the way it comes there's not much the dealer can do for me.
