My 07 MCS Died, No Power At All to Even Unlock the Door

So, I parked my car by the curb, went to a friends place for 3hrs and when i got back and tried to unlock my car(I have comfort access). It just wouldn't unlock. I took the key out and tried using the unlock button. That didn't work either. Then I pulled the key out and tried to use the key hole to unlock it. That didn't work properly either. Finally, I was able to unlock the car. I got in and tried to start it. Nope! No luck. The car was completely dead. No juice at all. I had to call roadside assistance. They jumped my car and when i moved from Park to Drive, it started to be really Jerky. I'm assuming i activated the ABS when trying to start it. I'm not sure though. I drove it directly to the dealer not wanting to take a risk. Don't have her back yet....I'm a bit concerned as to why it just died on me. This happened to Anyone else?

No this hasn't happen to me. Sounds like a complete died battery.

All my settings were the same as they always are. The guy at MINI looked at my lights and initially thought it was b'cas of the lights but, then he realized I have auto lights. I have 6k miles on it.

Loose connection at the battery's terminals maybe? That'd be the first thing I'd check if there's no power since it has happened where brand new cars didn't have their batteries' cables tightened properly at the terminals.

Turns out it was a bad battery which the dealer replaced under warranty. I'm surprised the battery went bad in just 9 months....:(

Don't be that surprised. BMW's have traditionally used Varta batteries, and I believe Mini uses the same. Varta is not known as being the "Timex" in the world of batteries.

The battery died on my '03 R53 within a year and a half of purchase. Dealer replaced. I went to Sears before the dealer and requested a Die-Hard but they didn't even have the MINI in their books yet and were hesitant to give me a replacement.

Just think of all the heat it's now subjected to in that tiny battery box under the hood! I suspect we'll all have more rapid replacements.

My old BMW had the battery in the trunk, and the OEM battery lasted about 8 years!
