April 7th (1st Monday of the month) we are dining at the Tavern on the Summit restaurant (225 Summit Blvd-Suite 100, Birmingham, AL 35243; phone 298-1222). This IS NOT the Village Tavern Restaurant located on the lower level of the Summit. The Tavern on the Summit is located in the upper level right next door to Belk's Department Store.

For all the "Meet and Eaters" we may be minus a couple of the regulars at the next meal. I heard today that George Bacon, the tall skinny bald bicycle guy, has stomach cancer. I don't know any of the details yet. Initial information has it that the doctors think because of his otherwise good health he should come through the treatments well. More later as it comes available. Until then keep George in your prayers.

We're looking forward to motoring to the Summit this evening. There may even be time for a Grant's Mill Road / Sicard run on the way, just to get in the mood. With optimism that as the road gets twisty there's no one in my view.

Well its not a sure thing, but it looks like Coop will be ready by tonite. It may be around 6ish before I get there, but if it all holds well, I will be in a MINI and not in a truck.
