I currently have a London Stainless maifold but upon looking at the specs for the MillTek I can't help but feel I spent too much. has anyone seen a comparison between them?

I'm interested in seeing a comparison as well - the Milltek seems like the same thing at half the price

It's mostly if not all in the CAT. After taking measurements and comparing them to measurements from the MillTek, I asked Randy, I got my LS from him, he had called LS to see if they made the MillTek. They did not and the CAT is not the same. The LS cat is $600+ by itself I was told!

I have the Milltek header with the hi-flow cat. I am very satisfied with it and have had no problem with the 'check engine' light. I suspect the London Stainless may be a better product, but not $450 better based on my budget.
Time will tell.

I don't know what an average install time would be but it took me around 2 hrs not counting time out for swearing and busted knuckles.

But the metal loading and flow numbers appear the same. That's teh big question. Does it flow as much gas and last as long.

The big question is if the new CAT will pass emissions? Anyone have to go through this yet?

Just a note, im in development of a two new headers, one with one without, i feel that the headers out there can be improved on and done less expensivly, i also will be using ceramic coating, to keep exhaust temps up,and engine bay temps down...... The race header (no cat) will be in production within the next two weeks, the Perfomance header (with cat) probably within three to four weeks......

I will be looking forward to your header developments Trey. As soon as you can, get some dyno pulls done. Graphs always sell performance products

Cheers,
Ryan

-->oh, and I've only heard the Mania and Milltek in person. The Milltek sounded awesome, whereas the Mania sounded rather tinny and, dare I say, ricey.

Yes, they are stepped, equal length, and the graphs are on the way once i get my day on dyno, its drag season here they stay booked up on the dyno....hopefully this week

You said mania sounds ricy, thats funny, you heard mine at the dragon, that WAS the mania header, didnt sound ricy to me but then again i have magnaflow too so, i can see where a different exhaust maybe....but anyways.. hows your car situation coming along good i hope!!
I only saw about 6ftlbs of torque gain and no hp gain or loss with the mania header.....

I never got a chance to hear yours in full-tilt, just idling down the road in Fontana Village, really.

Ok, so maybe ricey is a bit of a stretch. It doesn't sound bad per se, but doesn't have the ***** of the Milltek, sonically.

Your power curves for the Mania header; was there any HP gain throughout the bandwidth? Area under the curve is what I'm interested in.

Keep me informed!

K i didnt take any offense, i really didnt see any hp gains thru out the badwidth but did see about an average of 6ftlbs with the mania header, I will be posting as soon as i get the info posted...

Also how could i take offense to the mania sound, its gone isnt, lol perfromance wise i was very very dissapointed.... and i think the prices of the milltek/supersprint/london stainless is outrageous.

So have you found your replacement for Mr. Motor yet sorry to here about all that....

Just a little clarification on the Milltek cat that is attached to the Milltek header. It's a 200-cell Platinum-coated stainless cat core made in Germany by HJS. There is no better cat that we know of in the world. The 200-cell (versus 100) is put there to retain torque and insure proper catalyzation (sp?). Milltek pricing is agressive on purpose at $895 retail for the USA. -Pete, Stratmosphere

From what I have been told recntly, which I do trust, the Miltek and Quicksilver are BOTH manufactured by London Stainless steel. Waiting for final confirmation on this, but if so, one is competing against the other on price .......................... go figure.

As far as I know (according to Milltek) London Stainless doesn't manufacture that dowpipe/cat (or any Mini S downpipe/cat). But, just to clarify again, this is a MILLTEK unit without question. Stratmosphere is the only authorized agent for Milltek in North America. -Pete, Stratmosphere

Cadd,

Any info on the headers yet? I am curious about the ceramic coating... is it inside or outside the metal. If outside then I would think that the metal would suffer the diliterious effects of all that heat. I have no idea of the problems associated with coating the inside but I was just wondering if it was feasible or something you considered.

Thanks

Chuck

I have run into some "production snags" if you will, I have the prototype made, with great results im hesitating to post results because i want to try the header on a couple of cars to make sure my results are consistant , Im working on the and the scoops as hard as i can, i hope to have the first batch of the scoops the end of the week, unfortunatly i will have to hold off on anoucing when the headers will be done, i have to work some production kinks out, then will be ready, I want them out as bad as the rest of you guys, I hope to have some more updates by the end of the week as well, so maybe then i can gice a more accurate date.....sorry

Thanks for the update. It sounds awsome and I'm eager to see the results but take your time; I'd rather have a finished product ready for prime time than one brought to the market too early. Of course I can say this because I dont even have may car yet (stupid waiting list).
