Replacing H7 DRL/High Beam bulb

I'm trying to replace a burnt out H7 bulb on my 05 mini cooper W/Xenon and I am a bit confused on how to actually remove the bulb. It looks like there is a ring that allows you to put a new bulb in but it doesn't seem to allow you to take the old out (Like it has barbs). It's not my car so I don't want to try to force it out. Any tips on removing the bulb?

Thanks

Unplug bulb, remove clip ( will fold down) , remove bulb, install new bulb exactly in position of old bulb, re-install clip ( raise back into position ), plug back in, and test.

It depends...

It depends.... acording to Haynes:

On models up to 07/04, release the retaining clip and remove the bulb. This clip sort of moves out of the way...

After 07/2004, they changed the clip and you may need a screw driver or similar to "press the middle retaining clip outwards." and the new bulb is just pressed into the socket 'til the clips catch.

I'm guessing you have the AFTER 07/04 version? I've never seen one and only relate what's in Haynes....my 02 unclips easy....

From the Haynes pictures I suspect you may need to get in there and play ..pushing the 3 pins back until the bulb is free

don't blame me....I didn't do it
