OK. I need one of these, but which one?

or

The first one seems like it would be less of a reach, but it also might be in the way. I dunno. Also, do you use the swivel attachment? That seems like it might be handy.

Thanks for any advice you've got!

Good question. I have the same question. So, I've ordered both.

I'm mounting an iPaq for Nav (Globalsat BT GPS receiver + iGuidance software, a nice combo).

I think the right place to mount is high and between the speedometer and the inside vent. Neither ProClip mounts will do that. The center mount (left side one) with an extension would work - but they don't have such an extension. The real solution is a mount like the one sold in Europe for the MINI iPaq Nav - but mounted left of the speedo, not above it.

I have the proclip mount for my ipaq that attatches to the downtube and it works great! It comes with adhesive tape but I didnt even need to use it, as it fits snug.

When I got my Proclip, the only choice they had was the one that mounts on the right of the console. I like it alot. The other one looks like it may obstruct the radio controls a bit.

Also, they did not have a swivel base when I got mine either, and I kind of wish I had it for my particular phone (so I can view text messages while the phone is in the cradle). Whether or not you get the swivel depends on your phone and personal tastes, I guess. With some phones, it probably doesn't matter.

I like where I have my Dell mounted. I'm going to add the left-hand downtube pro-clip for my T68i.
