M7 rear wing rattles

Well everything is tight back there and when I slam my hatch or go over bumpier streets it rattles against the black roof rain guard. Has anyone had the same problem or have suggestions as to how to make it more secure. Any help would be appreciated.

Are you sure it's the wing? The third brake light rattled against the window on mine. The dealer installed felt between the light and window to fix it.

I don't think it's loose, it's just a bit flimsy and it is rattling against the car. Can you move it farther from the car or put something between it and the car?

Nope - have had the wing for about a year and no rattles or any other issues.

1) You did use the rubber that goes between the bracket and roof ?
2) You got the left bracket on the left and the right on the right ?
3) Sure the brackets are really cranked down ?
4) Try loosening everything up and push the roof brackets away (up) from the roof rain guard. I'm not w/ my car presently but my recollection was that brackets don't touch the rain guard or just butt to it.

The brackets should not be touching the rain guard.

I reinstalled mine using a different gasket under the mount. We took a tire inner tube and cut out new ones that fit better.

In 20K miles and on track speeds as high as 130 I've never notice it rattle.

How is this mounted? Take some pictures maybe. No part of the wing inself should be that close to the car to cause a rattle.

Just took at look at my wing and the brackets are touching the rain guard BUT the brackets don't move - suckers are "attached" but good.

If you are correct that the bracket vibrates against the rain guard its gotta be that you don't have them torqued down. For my brackets to move the whole roof would have to be loose.

I would bet when your on the track doing 130 on a straight away your not listening for rattles - could be wrong thou .

What angle setting did you end up using for the track?

On that long back straight at Road Atlanta you have time to clean the windows and do an oil change, 130 was not pushing it all the way.

Wing is in the shallowest position.
