I have been informed that on some cars putting 17's on can effect the accuracy of your speedo...is this true???

larger wheels won't change the speedo. It's the tires you mount to them and as long as you don't stray too far off the stock tire size for that size wheel (205/45 R17) then you'll be ok.

No you morons, there is a formula for changing tire size to keep your speedo working. http://www.pepboys.com/learning_cent...us_sizing.html this link helps explain, but there are better sites to find out how large you can go. Use the following link to find out (http://www.c5-corvette.com/tirecalc.htm). Is isn't as simple as keeping to the original size.
