How long after....

How long after you ordered your mini did it actually appeared scheduled for production in MINIUSA?

UPDATE!

Ok this is my story:

I ordered on 12/20 2 days after that got it on order on the OL
I called ask mini on Monday and it was scheduled for production with no date ( hahaha, how do you schedule something with no date? )
Same status on Tuesday.
Today I called and magic! It is in production with and the completion day is 01/14!

Try this thread. Hang in there. Believe it or not, it's a lot of fun tracking your MINI. Before you know it you will be motoring!

I was told the minutes turn into hours and the days turn into weeks!! If it has been three days for me... doing the math... uh, I don't think it really works that way Is there a way to cheat time? I guess I need to brush up on the theory of relativity and conduct some experiments. I will post if I find something that works!

I ordered on 12/8 and didn't schedule for production until 1/6 but when I called AskMini that day I was told that it started production on 1/3. Go figure!

Very next day for me (and I ordered on a Sunday).

Check with your MA. It all depends on the dealer's allotment.

... and weeks turn into months
ours hit the port today in California, along with 373 other eager Mini's.
only another week or two to go.

I've been waiting to get one since their north american debut was announced, I've worked on tons of customers Mini's while working at different shops over the years, and now it's been 80 days since we placed our order, and another ~10 days to go
man it's been a long wait, but tracking it's shipment and knowing it's a day closer every time I get home from a crappy day of work, it's enough to put a smile on my face.

That being said, I really wish I'd managed to get an '06 while they had the royal grey & silver roof available (years of playing with the configurator ). The supercharged motor had such a visceral sound to it as well. Of course the R56 is a wonderful refined ride inside & out, while the turbocharger and modern motor offers tons of potential.

I always thought the faux grill in the bumper of the R53 was a little cheesy, but it did look a bit more like the classic mini, the R56 looks like it's borrowed some AC Cobra dna (still british).

BMW's really made a car/brand worth the wait.

still waiting for transport after 7 weeks

I ordered my SS/B on November 14, it was built on December 12, and the website says that the car is still awaiting transport. It's a good thing that I'm a patient guy, but it is definitely getting difficult. I must have gone to the wrong dealer, sheesh!

It took about a week from ordering to start of build. I was in week 40 of 2007. The problem you face at this time of the year is that you have one of the early 2008 slots. Once things start rolling, the slots will fly by. Now you might also encounter delays in getting on a boat. That is the frustrating fun of Mini ordering. You watch the computer like an expectant mother. Hoping your mini vin shows up on a manifest!
