YES! The beast is coming alive! It's spray time!
The CryO2 system is finally installed and freezin' up my intercooler.
With a little customizing done to the Alta air diverter, it all fits like a glove.
ok the basics...
Hose + wiring runs thru firewall behind glove box (remove g-box).
hose + wiring runs under passenger side door sill, then up under seat.
Tank set up in a removable mount behind pass. seat (valve toward driver).
Arming switch and purge/manual switches are mounted one in each of the two blank plugs on each side of the center handbrake cover (real slick!)

Now there is only one problem...and it's a good one...

MY TIRES BREAK LOOSE ALL THRU 1ST, and second takes a little to hook up!
I guess I need some sticky sneakers now. One mod just leads to another

Oh, and yes, that tear-*** nasty sound when when you hit the switch down main street on a saturday night REALLY makes some mouths drop and eyes pop! That icy cold CO2 rolls out of the hood scoop like dry ice in water!

Bisch, you're a bona fide maniac
I cruised Rt. 28, Dennisport, Harwich, Chatham Sat. night. Was going to go to Hyannis and cruise around but figured traffic would be too heavy. Would have been fun to roll two abreast clogging up Main Street. I hope they always keep it a one way street.
Can't wait to see the set up.
Cheers.
-Steve

Bottle behind seat (note spare behind drivers side)
So far my mods are:

Madness intake
Alta air diverter, w/ water sprayer
Mania Pulley
CryO2 liquid CO2 spray system
Supersprint header
Magnaflow exhaust
H&R springs
Drilled & slotted rotors
coming soon, real soon...Hamann aero, Conforti ECU program, Quaife LSD, lightweight flywheel, clutch etc.

And still only 700 miles!!!
The install was done by myself. I will be selling the CryO2 systems (but that topic will come later). Design Engineering has customized the spray bar per my request and will offer it soon as a "MINI specific" part #.

I decided not to use the intake cooler, felt it would be restrictive. I'll take a pic of the solenoid.
The 4x8 bar is a good size, but the 90 degree inlet would not work.

Ha. "and still only 700 miles"

I think you should put some more on there before you go off street racing all the time. Otherwise I really like that co2 system, neat.

That looks awesome! I like how the buttons where placed by the ebrake. You need to get a decal or somethin that says Cry02 to put on the buttons. Kinda like how the nos buttons look.

Has anyone done any hard performance testing?

Dyno numbers, 1/4 mile times? Seems like a good idea, Id be real curious to see how well it worked in testing.

I'll do my best to get to a dyno in the next two weeks. The nearest dyno is 80+ miles away, and I work every day. Trust me, as soon as I can, I will. My ***-dyno says "holy crap hp". And its sooo smooooth.

Wow, I wouldnt have thought the improvement would be that good.

Very encouraging stuff. If this mod makes that much more HP, its a no brainer. Cheap and theres no way it can hurt your motor. If anything, its better for your motor to keep incoming air temps down.

How long does a bottle last you?

Can you describe the process of how you operate it? Do you have to cool down the intercooler first and then just keep spraying it while youre accelerating?

Aquamist provides a nifty adjustable manifold pressure switch, typically set to start squirting at >10psi, for their water injection. That would be perfect for the Cryospray

The 5lb bottle is good for about 2+ min. of spray. Hence the need for a spare. Refills are anywhere from $9-$19. Still a cheap thrill.

The toggle is the "arm" switch. The blue button is manual. On the side of the gas pedal is mounted the wide open throttle micro switch. I have yet to activate this. The idea is to cool the IC before the run with a few shots, then the WOT switch will spray thru the whole run. What I do is slow the transition from hot to ice by hitting a couple short bursts, followed by few longer bursts right before green. Between shifts, I hit the button with the heal of my palm. This makes for a very busy drive, so I quess I'll just go with the WOT switch.
